Sprint Mogul to Stock Verizon ROM

I bought a Sprint Mogul from a friend and I am trying to make it work with Verizon. I have used QPST to change the edit pass code to 000000 and relocked the phone with relocker.

Now when I try to run the stock Verizon ROM updater, I get Error 294 "Invalid Vender ID"

What do I need to do? What value is the Vender ID?

Thanks,

To flash a ROM with a different vendor ID, you must unlock the phone first. If you have a Sprint GPS ROM, unlocking and installing the official Verizon ROM, which is not a GPS ROM, has the potential of bricking the phone. If the device has a GPS Sprint ROM, then your safest bet is to flash a custom ROM for Verizon.

Thanks for the warning! Since this phone has never been a Verizon phone, how do I run Verizon customization on it? Do I need to?

I bought this phone for my wife. I already have a XV6800 that I flashed with a Sprint ROM to get GPS. If I install the same ROMs on the Mogul, and not let sprint customization run, will it then be able to work with Verizon?

It seems that somehow, I need to get Verizon customization to run at least once.

Thanks,

Hopefully, whatever custom ROM for Verizon that you choose will have the necessary Verizon customizations included.

HAve you taken the phone to a VZW store to ask if they can flash it over to there network? Then you could just put whatever ROM you want on it later. I think that VZW has to activate the ESN on there network for the phone to be used.

Do not let the Sprint Customizations run at all. Soft Reset before the Customizations start, and then you need to run the Verizon Customizations Cab. Unzip, copy cab file to phone, and click it to run it. I have linked it for you below. When you are all done, you are going to have to call Verizon and do some serious sweet talking to get them to add the Sprint ESN to their ESN database so that you can activate it with them. Hope this helps and good Luck!!

Thanks for all the help. I ran the Verizon Customization Cab and called Verizon to activate the phone.

They said that because the ESN is not in their database, they can't add it.

Is there some magic line of BS that I can feed them to get them to add it?
