Exchange 2003

Is anyone having trouble setting up direct push email with 6.1 ROMs? I cannot get my email working for a week. I have been working with my system admin to set up direct push for my email and cannot get it working.

We tried for the past 2 days. The IT guy activated the setting to allow mobile devices but I still cannot get it working. I need some serious help so I can get my work email on my PPC. Someone post the steps I need to try if you can. I don't care if you guys give me 20 different things to try I will do it at this point. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Can you be more specific? Are you getting an error? If so, when? During the setup? If so, when during the setup?

I assume you've loaded your cert on the SD and installed it, right?

Make sure you are using SSL if required, and use the OWA address for your server name.
Make sure the domain name is typed correctly.'

What error do you get from ActiveSync when it tries to connect?

I have Exchange 2003 running on WMO 6.1 with no problems. It most likely your server settings on your device or a back end issue. You need to ask your IT guy what the correct server name is. Also you can ping the server name and see if you can resolve an IP on a windows PC or Mac. On a PC just open the command prompt and type ping "servername" If it does not resolve an IP then your IT guy needs to fix the A record on your hosted DNS server or internal server. It also may be a Nat or port issue. To ping on a mac simply go to utilities, then terminal and type ping "servername" This should help pin down the issue.

Goodluck,

Mikee

I finally was able to get him to forward my emails to my private email address. Of course I had to tell him how to do it. What an IT guy.

im the IT guy at the compagny i work, you know sometime we dont have the time for this kind of issue but, it's working fine with exchange 2003.
for the server name i enter 'mail.yourmailserver.com' , its the address you use to get your email from the web. if owa is not enable it's another story
