External GPS antenna

I took my phone apart, a connected a long piece of wire to what I think is the internal GPS antenna and my phone could pick one satellite sitting on my desk just like my Holux GPS receiver.

It does not see any satellites here without that piece of wire (checked it before putting the wire and after I removed it).

Maybe I should get a real GPS antenna and do another test.

Before I continue wasting my time, have anyone already developed an external GPS antenna for the Titan?

Well, I am sure we can get better GPS reception with an external GPS antenna, now we need to figure out how to put a connector there.

An external antenna may interfere with the phone's sleek style... ;)

Function over form, lol

Anyways, you can always only connect it when you need it ;)

doubt it, I get like 9 sats even when in a car currently, and can find my location in most average houses. If you really need gps to find out were you are at work....yea ;)

Anybody know why people have such differences with their GPS reception? is it the radio stack that controls this chip. I can get 4 - 6 outside and in my car but 0 in any type of building. I don't really need reception in a building but I would think that if I could keep a lock when I went indoor it would be ready for me more often when I want it. Sometime I get a lock in <30 seconds and sometime minutes go by and I turn the phone off and back on and try again.
