I did something really stupid...
Okay, so I just got a Sprint Mogul (it was upgraded to the latest 6.1 ROM by the tech at Sprint), and in my excitement to try a custom ROM, I clicked through an outdated article and ran a "Titan Unlocker" program. After this ran, I was met with an "SPL-1.20.Olipro" bootloader screen.
I read through the thread on what to do if stuck at the bootloader screen, and I tried to reflash with the Sprint 2.17 package, and now the startup screen says "M09 B03 No Radio D 2.17". Windows Mobile loads up (very slowly), but only gets to the part where it says "Tap the screen to set up your phone." The touch screen does not work. Could someone direct me to the next step of what I should do? I have read that using the Olipro 2.40 bootloader should be next, but I can't even get into Windows Mobile to run that program. Is there any way to revert the phone back to its stock state? I noticed the Titan Relocker, but can I use that at this point? I realize that I am a bit of an idiot and that I should have done more research, but at this point I need your help more than your criticism. Many thanks for your help! EDIT: Just to clarify, I booted back into the bootloader and reran the Sprint 2.17 ROM update. Same result (stuck on the "Tap the screen" part). Also, how do you prevent the Sprint customizations from being installed? Am I messing up that part of the restore? |
Re: I did something really stupid...
wow sprint actually upgraded it for you? i wonder why they tuned me down?

I'll try flashing the latest Sprint ROM to see what happens. Honestly, I may just end up taking it back to the Sprint store. The tech there isn't the brightest crayon in the box. Basically, if a phone has an error message, he switches it out. OK, wait. I just read that the Olipro 1.20 bootloader is not compatible with GPS ROMs, so am I in for disaster if I try to flash the newest Sprint ROM? |
Re: I did something really stupid...
I think you have to flash Olipro 2.4 first. Try restarting both your phone and XP box first. Then Olipro should see your device. Hope it helps.
EDIT/ the more I think about it... I do not think you need Olipro installed to run a stock ROM, you should just be able to flash the upgrade. |
Re: I did something really stupid...
OK, I'm going to give the 2.40 upgrade a try first, and if that doesn't work I'll just try flashing the stock ROM anyway.
Thanks for all your help Austin! |
Re: I did something really stupid...
you can't upgrade to 2.40 without WM loading. You need to flash a full pre-GPS exe until you can get to a point where WM loads. That is you're only solution. Try all different pre-GPS ones if needed. Use the RUU via USB and try SD method if that fails. If you're bootloader says Olipro on it you shouldn't have any permanent problems just gotta try a few til ya get it to work.

EDIT: I just tried the SD card flash using the 2.17 ROM and it failed. I redownloaded it, reformatted the SD card (FAT32, full format, not quick), and still no love. The error occurs at the CMDA portion of the update. Does the "No Radio" message at boot have anything to do with this? |
Re: I did something really stupid...
Well, I found someone who appears to have done the same thing as me. He posted back in May:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...7&postcount=65 I'm going to guess that, since I am getting the "No Radio" message, I am screwed. |

What I don't know is if your device will work properly until a proper rom is put on there. Best best is to put nueROM 2.2 pre7 using the same flash from SD card technique described above. Note the ROM file must be renamed to TITAIMG.nbf for the bootloader to recognize it. Also, after flashing any ROM, please remove your battery followed by a hard reset. Please let us know how this works out for you. -Doc |
Re: I did something really stupid...
Sorry I was incorrect.
You are lucky, you have some real "pros" advising you now. I believe there's a typo in the previous post though. The file should be named titaimg.nbh not "nbf". Good luck. |

Re: I did something really stupid...
Well, no luck. Now it just sits at the HTC boot screen with the big red "No Radio" at the bottom. I'm thinking I may have a brick.
The bootloader seemed to update, but it still shows Olipro 1.20. |

PS: Jakdillard, you can't flash a hardSPL from a hardSPL they have overwrite protection and you can't do it from a locked SPL as it's not signed by HTC. |

ImCokeMan...
Not to contradict you but I thought it was a bad idea to flash to a pre-gps rom to a phone that already has a gps rom.. Shouldnt he use the latest sprint update to flash to an official rom since he said that the sprint tech upgrade to wm6.1. But Im probably wrong with you credentials you know what your talking about. |

1.) Got Mogul from Sprint with updated 6.1 ROM. 2.) Ran Titan Unlocker (1.20.Olipro) 3.) Got stuck at boot screen, so I tried to reflash 6.1 ROM. It froze at 11% during the restore process and restarted. 4.) Looked here on PPCGeeks and decided to try flashing 2.17 ROM via USB and it worked, but displays "No Radio" and freezes at Windows Mobile screen. (Tried 2.17 SD flash method, but fails at "CMDA" portion...I'm guessing this is where it is trying to flash the Radio and fails) 5.) Tried some of the other suggestions here, including the nueROM, but that just leaves me stuck with the "No Radio" message at bootup. Any other suggestions? If not, I may just take the phone to the Sprint store with the 2.17 ROM and show them that it's freezing at the Windows Mobile screen. Hopefully they'll replace it. Can I flash the 2.40.Olipro using the SD method (i.e. copying the TITAIMAGE.nbf from the install folder to the SD card)? |
Re: I did something really stupid...
flash the official 3.56 rom from the sd card.
Just extract the files out of the exe package using winrar and copy the signed_ruu.nbh file to sd card like the other one and rename it the same titaimg.nbh. Then put into bootloader. If bootloader is already up. Reset and if it tries to load wm again put into back into bootloader. If it loads bootloader then the rom should flash just fine. I actually ran into something really similar when I got my second mogul since someone had already put olipro 1.2 on it. They told me it was a new one...lol..I knew right away, I said something then the guy was like how do you know, then I pointed out the sticker on one of the bolts had been tampered with..Idiots. something as simply as that and they trying to exchange it as a new one..Im just working towards another free upgrade. If you cant figure out extracting the files I set up a download somewhere. |
Re: I did something really stupid...
Well, I tried just flashing the Olipro 2.40 bootloader, but as expected, it didn't work.
Trying the 2.16 Sprint ROM now. |

Re: I did something really stupid...
ehhh....that sucks.
you could try flashing just the radio with the sd card...try and flash the one that belongs with the rom that shows is loaded on it. |

Re: I did something really stupid...
I know that this all works because a guy at my school has a mogul like me and he has the iPhone set up. I think that us n00bs are just messing things up : (

Re: I did something really stupid...
Well I tried flashing the radio by itself and it failed. I think I've narrowed this down to a radio flashing problem.
Any suggestions now that I've reached this point? Could this possibly be a hardware problem? EDIT: On a whim I tried flashing the 2.13 radio (for the Sprint Vogul, but works on the Titan), and I've got Windows Mobile! What should I do now? Should I upgrade to Olipro 2.40? |
Re: I did something really stupid...
that actually what Ive been reading is that if it fails at 11% is because of no radio. Im trying to find just the radio to download to give you a link.
Ill edit this post when I find one... You need radio 1.47 to go with your 2.17 roms right. Then you need to flash the full official rom. |

Nice...... Try flashing the 3.56 official sprint rom. Via sd or active sync if you can. WAIT you might need to relock...Im not sure. Yah Id try to relock it since I read that sometimes that how the no radio problem begins when flashing a gps rom to a pre-gps rom without relocking. |
Re: I did something really stupid...
BAM! We're back up!
It looks like the kicker was getting the radio flashed. I was just able to flash 2.40, so I think I'm in good shape. I'm going to try to reflash with a GPS-based ROM. (Trying the official 3.56 ROM first.) Thanks to everyone who helped this ROM noob! |

Originally, I would have liked nothing more than to just get back to the stock ROM, but now that I know a bit more, I'm interested in seeing what custom ROMs are out there. It looks like I may be in the clear here. The 3.56 update has gotten past the 11% mark, so I think I'll be OK. I'll be sure to post any final updates. As an added note, adrenaline is one hell of a drug :) EDIT: WM6 is back up and running! Thanks to all who helped me out! |
Re: I did something really stupid...
lmao...
I hear yah happened to me when I got my new (to me) mogul.. Check out the ppckitchen, no2chem's nueRom, and also DCD's roms.. There are several other but those are the most used ones... Itll be alot easier to upgrade since you've already been through the hard parts.. That way if it happens again you just have to start over.. |

Re: I did something really stupid...
I ended up with the same symptoms doing the exact same stupid **** lol, don't know if you got your problem solved yet but i ended up flashing back to an old rom and it worked fine from there it was rom
