Problems updating from leaked to official ROM

hi... i upgraded to the leaked rom back when it came out using olipro 2.40... now im trying to put the official rom onto my phone but olipro isnt working properly.
basically i run the unlocker, it takes me thru to the tri color screen then starts the 3.16 RUU for some reason and then gives me the connection error.
i am seriously starting to feel like this guy

any ideas on what i should do?
why does this have to be so complicated? why cant i just download the HTC rom and have it work without all this bootloader unlocker stuff?

im sure this has been covered somewhere else on this forum but i just read thru a bunch of pages and couldnt find any help so sorry for being sucha noob. thanks for any help

Man I'm right there with you. I've been staring at the same screen for hours now so I hope someone will help us both. Do you have a mogul 6800 too?

i still confused....I went through the unlock process but where do i go from there? I keep getting a error when i try to extract the file from WinRAR

official roms are .exe and need to be ran from the PC.

im a complete idiot setting here with my phone stuck in the Tri color screen needing software loaded on it. Please have pitty on me and tell me 1. if I'm headed in the right direction and 2. Where is the link to download the iphone software to put it on my phone because I have downloaded just about 50 different files but since 5pm central std time.

the problem ive always had with this phone is that when i run the RUU file, activesync disconnects my phone and then i get the connection error.

i got it to work the last time with olipro but its not happening this time.

Have you tried putting the phone into bootloader and then running the RUU?
