Re: Official Verizon XV6800 update and cost reduction!

I appreciate the advice on the $30 internet! I'm calling Verizon right now to save my wife and I $30 per month.

It pisses me off that they do not offer this to loyal customers. I've been a Verizon customer for 10yrs. The least they could have done is mentioned it on my bill or something.

Most of you may not know this since it is NOT advertised yet on the website or even in the stores unless you ASK!!! But, if you're paying Verizon for internet on their unlimited acess $45 a month service, you can now change it to their new UNADVERTISED $30 a month service. I did not know this. Here's the why it's on the DL. Not all phones support EVDO Rev. A. So, not all phones can use the service. In fact, most can not. So, if they advertise that this can happen, many people get upset that they can't get unlimited internet at $30 a month. See what I mean? But, the 6800 can support Rev. A and it's even coming with this new update! So call Verizon, tell them you want the $30 a month ......................

HAHA, THE FIRST TECH THOUGHT HE HAD ME, WELL IN FACT SHE DID, CLAIMED 'SHE' HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT... SO I DID WHAT ANY RED BLOODED AMERICAN WOULD DO... I CALLED BACK AND SUCCESS! NOW PAYING 30 AMOUNT FOR BROADBAND ACCESS, UNLIMITED!!!

Re: Official Verizon XV6800 update and cost reduction!

interesting... i was on the 99.99 plan for 450 minutes plus unlimited but this is def better... I did call them to have it changed but I also noticed the "email & web" 29.99 plan is also on their website too so I don't think it's "hidden."

$67 now for 450 mins, 250/unlimited txt, and insurance... not bad!

As far as the merger with Alltel, They have been in bed with each other for years. Verizon and Alltel have been sharing the backbone for coverage. Seperate switchs thou.
I didn't look at the dates when I read the stories. The MCI merger may have already happened and things are what they are now. However, the Alltell merger is official and in more ways than just swapping spit and whispering sweet nothings into their fibers. Supposedly by the end of this year, Alltell will no longer exist and everything it is will be Verizon (internet and in-store sources both told me this). It's not just the backbone either. Towers, phones, lines, everything will be adopted by Verizon.

Yes, 5GB has been the cap for a long time now. But think about it. How many people do you know that can download 5GB onto/through their phone in a month? If your tethering your phone through 5+GB of data in a month, you really need a landline source of broadband pronto! Preferrably one that has no cap. Then enjoy living in the roomiest limits (or lack thereof) that life can offer. Along with a cheaper wireless bill.

No longer exist? Then what is going to happen to the cool Alltel commercials if they are going to be swallowed up by big red? I am going to miss good ol Chad... <sob>

Didn't you hear? They're pairing him up with the Verizon dude that always says "Can you hear me now?". Chad's part will be to say "Yes" in another place. They're also thinking of having conversation start so that people can see that the phone is actually for more than checking signal. I'm telling you, there's a lot of good stuff coming out of this merger...

Re: Official Verizon XV6800 update and cost reduction!

Ok all, just some update on the Verizon release we're all anxiously waiting on. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...8&postcount=14 has a couple of details about the contents of the release that a few of you may want to know about. So, shimmy on over, check it out and then EVERYBODY call and tell Verizon you want that release NOW! Or at least the day we'll get it.
