godaddy.com smtp server not functioning in wm6.1
Has anyone gotten this to work?
settings are correct: smtpout.secureserver.net or k2smtpout.secureserver.net Incoming mail works fine, outgoing mail creates an error. I've looked on xda and it seems to be a wm6.1 issue. WM6 works fine. Any ideas? Thanks! :) |

hmmm. i've just tried sending from my godaddy account and your right, error..
recieves just fine.... i never noticed before, since i don't ever send from that account from my device.. smtpout.secureserver.net no2Chem 5067 WM 6.1 |

I bet you don't have the Outgoing mail server requires authentication box checked....
I've been working on mine too. I logged into my godaddy account and found the set up guide for outlook express. I followed the guide and I can sent from it with no errors http://products.secureserver.net/ema...ookexpress.htm Incoming Server: pop.secureserver.net Account Type: POP3 Outgoing Server: smtpout.sercureserver.net Check the Outgoing mail server requires authentication box Check the Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail too... I do not have anything selected under the Advanced Server Settings menus Jim |

Now I tried it again and it doesn't work......weird. It worked once....I promise...
Now I have sent 2 new and forwarded 2 others with no problems.... |

Mine used to work as well, about last week is when it began the error.

Once deleted and reconfigured, the smtp.secureserver.net outbox seems to work properly. let's see if it holds.

I was working for me, but now I get 'The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that your account information is correct. Then try sending again.'
I have deleted smtpout.secureserver.net and added it back in, with same results. I'll try a reset. *edit: After reset, my device was locked up with a reminder on screen. I tried a few more resets with no luck. The last software I installed was the egress 4 preview. I think that caused the problem with my lockup but probably not related to my email issue. |

I have noticed if you change your outgoing server settings it requires deleting the account and recreating it..... Some information sticks or something, very annoying....

My settings work just fine... I think they just changed their servers, also make sure you have requires authentication checked.
Servers should be something like this: Incoming: mail.yourdomain.com Outgoing: smtpout.yourdomain.com or smtp.yourdomain.com Seems like I had to change my settings from the smtpout.yourdomain.com to just smtp.yourdomain.com... Also make sure your user name is your full email address. |

Deleted my account and reprogrammed.
