Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

the interface moves at a good speed but its barely usable. The device has to be configured for the titan. SD Card, Cam, Speaker, and Gps dont work. The keyboard only has a few buttons on it that do some things. And the touch screen cant tell the difference between swipes taps and double taps most of the time. Since the screen is not accurate it takes two or three times as long to do things as compared to WM.

And all of the instructions are in the thread Im running whatever is in this thread. Its cool to look around and see whats to come and it works good for making calls, but thats about it.

Do I need a custom ROM for this to work or does it run with a stock ROM? I have seen people using running DCD's ROM so I was unsure.

It runs in memory, so ROM type shouldn't matter whatsoever.

I'm trying to figure out how it runs in memory if the SD Card doesn't work?

Also, as others have asked, what version is this that you've got running?

If its like the Kaiser build, it uses haret to load and boot the linux kernel from inside of WinMo, where obviously SD card access works. Once everything is loaded and linux/android boots, they lack the drivers for the SD card.

I used the cab found here:
http://www.myhtcphone.com/downloads/...y-installation

If memory serves me right, I had to soft reset a couple of times after starting haret.exe to get it to load up.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Sorry if this has been asked already (I tried doing a search on the posts, but couldn't find anything):

I have Android working (to some extent) on my Titan. It's not real pretty right now, but it does come up.

How do I "switch" between tasks/apps? So far, if I start up the phone app (or the browser, or email, etc.), I can't get out to do anything else until I reset the phone.

Also, I seem to need to use the stylus for everything - using my fingers doesn't seem to work. Is this the way it is for now?

Thanks ....

You have to open the keyboard. Push the "shift" button to back out of a screen. "Ok" - menu. There are a few other keys that work, but not too many. Um, I think the arrow keys do something too.

^I am impressed with this new version. It works a lot better than the one posted at myhtcphone.com. IMO. Its another step closer...
