Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Awww, the widgets don't wiggle

LOL

Loving the new interface... but they really need to work on the finger friendliness... or lack thereof... I can't use my finger for anything... even buttons... the screen is too sensitive.

Also, the end call button now *locks* the phone instead of taking you out of the app so now you're pretty much forced to stick with one app lol

And for the instructions - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=684

Me personally, I couldn't get the files to ungzip on the device and had to do it with winrar on my computer and then edit default.txt to point to initrd instead of initrd.gz... You may have better luck than I.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

booted up first try.
I just got a fresh android.zip, then put the 3 files on top of the ones from the original tarball.

i had no service.. it seems to think it's gsm.
end button turns off screen, can't go between apps.
got the sms error on boot and had to force quit.
other than that, it seems like it's a huge improvement over the last one.

I really need to get my box at home up and running so I can at least try to get some stuff working on this, but I just moved a couple weeks ago and I'm in the process of unpacking/arranging everything still.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I got it to function, but currently the precision's way off, and trying to exit an app screwed me as noted by someone else. I was then locked out. Had to soft-reset. The little I saw was promising, though. The videos on Gizmodo and Engadget are much more helpful, but I had been hoping to try it for myself.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

If we could get our buttons working while we wait for dzo to make the RIL library for cellular radio control, we'd be able to use .9 no problem.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Unfortunately, the previous half-working method of getting out of apps via the end call button has been broken in .9, which means no matter what app you choose, you're stuck there. LOL

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I know that this is the line to edit for data but how do I insert the specific info to work right?

Code:
set cmdline "ppp.username=mobile@jamamobile ppp.password=telecom msmsdcc_fmax=48000000 quiet"

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

It won't work on .9 because the RIL library is broken - no radio communication whatsoever. dzo is working on it.

As for the data... I've always had to just have an active data connection on the old build and it would pick it up and browse... the connect string never worked on my Mogul but it works on my buddy's Touch.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Hi All,

I have been trying to install Android on my T-Mobile Vario II (HTC Hermes), but the it hangs at "Jumping to Kernal..."

Following are the things which are displayed when loading:
HaRET boot
Shutting down hardware
Turning off MMU...
In Preloader
PSR=600000df
Tags relocated

Jumping to Kernal...

Is is Possible to make Android working on T-Mobile Vario II (HTC Hermes)

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

more than likely a different chipset. See if there's a build for a device that has a matching one
