Re: XV6800 for Verizon

I asked some similar questions in the 2.47 thread, but didn't get the answers. Thanks to Zen and Ga. Medic for some great clarification.

Some say the SD card format process needs to include a 1024 cluster size, but I think that is covered in the 2.47 .exe format process, and also in a "Start Menu"/Run" "Cmd" process detailed around here somewhere.

Re: XV6800 for Verizon

Insert the card in a card reader. On your PC open my computer and right click on the drive containing the card and click fromat. Select fat32 and format. That is what I did with my 2gb card and it worked fine.

Re: XV6800 for Verizon

Oh, I also never had to call Verizon. The phone just worked for me after the 2.40 Olipro unlock, flash new Sprint ROM for radio, and flash again for choice of ROM. Not sure why some do and some don't.

Since then, I flashed newer radio with SD card, and 2.47 SPL, and flashing has gotten a whole lot easier.

Re: XV6800 for Verizon

Has anyone on verizon have a problem with connecting to data network after flashing new rom and radio? i did not let the customizations run, had to call verizon to "authenticate" and everything was ok...few hours later my phone would try to connect to the data network, connect, and then immediately disconnect with no error...verizon had no answer for me after 5 days and is just sending a new phone...i tried hard resetting and doing *228, worked for a fewhours and then back to dropping the data call...does anyone have any info on this? ive tried search but the only info I can find is from people using US Cellular, or Alltell and having to change the HDR pw, but i havent seen anyone with this problem for verizon .... thanks for the help in advance

I haven't messed with the 19588 kitchen much honestly... I've only used it to get at nueROMs... have you tried a nueROM or dcd ROM? Possibly a pre-built ROM instead of a cooked one... cooked ROMs you can get into some variable results depending on what you "cook" into it... good to throw on a pre-built ROM you know everything works for troubleshooting.

Is there a specific error you're getting when the data connection drops?

no error at all ... i have the EV icon, as the phone connects to #777, the signal strength icon goes from the antenna pic, to the arrows pic (connected-data send/receive)...1-3 seconds later, the arrows pic goes right back tot he antenna pic (hope this makes sense)

Personally, I would try another ROM to see if that helps... btw, if they're sending u a refurb make sure you flash that thing back to stock before u send it back.
