iceROM
iceROM 0.0.2A LE, Currently still based on no2 WM 6.1 release 5067. If you prefer 5060 download iceROM 0.0.1A.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS. FLASHING THIS ROM MAY/WILL RUIN YOUR DEVICE. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ceROM/001A.jpghttp://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...iceROM/s2u.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ceROM/dile.jpghttp://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...iceROM/cmd.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...sshot001-1.jpg News Du to the fact 5067 EXtended_ROM being broken and the newly packed content of updated appz I had to change some install methods. I decided using some cabs instead of OEM's was the best approach and most efficient way to go about this. .02A now uses tiermans auto install to run a group of cabs. OEM's were used to disperse custom settings for the application cabs. There are more changes and different programs changed in this build because they were no longer compatible on 5067. I have been on this build for little over a month with some other testers reports are good and stable now. -iceRom integration with iceblue.development The ROM is fully integrated with all productions from iceblue.development. You can use any of my programs, skins, add-ons, or themes without any updates needed or base kits. Most of my packages are already in the ROM including packages that you cannot get outside of this ROM. Just a little perk I keep for the users. If you would like to view any iceblue.development releases so far and future visit Code:

Re: iceROM
I am just making a notice. There seems to be a large spike in downloads of iceROM version 0.0.1A. While this is fine and more then welcome from me, after all that is why it is up. I am not sure if people are getting the wrong one and not noticing theres a 1a and 2a posted on the server. I am only noting this because there seems to be an equal amount of 1a and 2a downloads in the past 48hrs. Take care and enjoy the ROM!

I can tease you with .3A wont be based on a solid no2 kitchen and will fall victim to my e-scaple. iceROM 3a = :violent2: |
Re: iceROM
You've got some pretty sweet anime backgrounds in this ROM. Nice stuff. Where do you find your material? What do you use for making your themes?

I mainly used my collection of photos I have collected over the years on my PC, Google image search, photoshop, and ThemegenCE. I left some of the settings the same in s2u2 config from v2a private to v2a public basically because I didn't want to build a new s2u2 settings OEM to fully comply with s2u2 1.05. I will fix this on 3A, I no doubtedly know there will be another update at this time as well. |

Re: iceROM
TurboFool - I know exactly what you mean. That has been one thing I have always had on my agenda to complete. I do admit there are several things I skinned in the ROM just to get rid of the hideous OE skin that follows nothing in my ROM. I would really like to get it down to all my stuff that follows itself, I just suck at graphics art no talent in it.
I was not a fan of SPB usability so I left it out. If I add to much customizations I will have to utilize the SD card as well to install from. Might not be to bad because next edition has allot of game play in it and needs the SD card for storage anyways. Basic idea is provide a check box say anime and nautical. If you chose anime it will disburse all the anime themes and backgrounds across the system that are currently packed for availability. The cool thing if I use the SD card is it would allow users to develop there own graphic theme packs as cabs for the community to use in the ROM. No longer limiting you to what I pack. |
Re: iceROM
Providing a base functionality and an SDK for making theme packs for it would be sweet. I could see people going crazy for that.
|
Re: iceROM
Agreed Turbo - I would do it too - I have a hodgepodge of various things on my phone and if someone were to put something together that made it easier (just not enough hours in the day), I would be all over it!
|
Re: iceROM
Not only that, but I flash my ROM so often that manually putting back the skins and such for each app is a chore. I've automated as much as I can, but the skins and things I usually have to do manually. So something that makes it easier to make a common feel (or steal the ones others have made), and even easier to auto-apply it to everything would be really helpful.

Re: iceROM
You will get the ability in version 0.1.4b I know most people might feel that using cab install methods may defeat the reasoning to build a ROM, but this is the only honest way I can give people choices inside the ROM. I recognize not everyone wants to use S2u2 and having it packed in can be a nucense. I recognize you can remove ilock from startup. I made s2u2 optional in .2a private and to cut down on cab installs on .2a public I packed it back into the ROM as OEM with s2u2 iceSettings.
I am greatly leaning to my ROM being fairly clean with iceROM settings / configurations being what it is and leaving external appz to the user to install via the auto config customizer. You can see this already from icePack OEM yourself. For sure I would still use my theme packs my dialer base system so you can change the dialer during config. Settings would be in the background unknown if the user chose not to install an app, and if they did later on it would be auto configured. |
Re: iceROM
I have alltel and want to try this rom, how is the GPS lock and does MMS work with this rom. Is it more stable than the stock rom that alltel put out in April

Re: iceROM
ok something went wacky when i unlocked the phone, and tried to install the radio...it went back to the radio i had 3.37.30. I got the ROM installed and it is running, playing around with it so now. I was wondering do i need to install the newer radio...for it to work better....i'm new to all this just glad so far i haven't bricked my phone

Re: iceROM
Thanks and nice work on the ROM. I just installed a little earlier today. I'm running the 3.49 beta and the 3.42.30 radio.
The only issue that I have had - and I'm sure it's just because I'm a noob to this phone and this level of customization - is that the phone keypad style/theme/skin, not really sure which is the proper term, is not really readable/viewable outdoors - this is a general problem with this phone anyway, but it is worse because of the transparency - in my opinion. How can I change this particular screens graphics/style? I've gone through most of the images - very sweet stuff - kudos... Now I get to figure out how to use all the other stuff you've managed to pack in. |
Re: iceROM
These phones are nearly useless outside. I am sorry the keypad is harder for you. The keypad in 2a is just bare default with some diamond additions usable. If you would like to change the keypad you can download any new keypad or sip from this site or xda-developers write and run the cab. Hope that helps you.
|
Re: iceROM
I would agree about the useless outside comment.
I'm not sure that your comment helps but it doesn't hurt either - I'm guessing that it's like doing the carrier cab - I'll just have to find a 'keypad' cab somewhere that I like - time to go searching I guess. Not familiar with 'sip' or was that just a typo for zip? Just jumping in head first and learning by trying things out. So far so good - I haven't broken anything that I haven't been able to fix so far.... so far. |
Re: iceROM
just wrapping up the install of the rom now (installing cabs) ... will post results

PapstDFrisco - SIP is part of some keyboard setups. Either way yes just locate a skin you like in a cab form and run it. |
Re: iceROM
cool, thinks for the fast reply....another issue i ran into...is I downloaded weather panel...and it worked fine, until i did a softrest and then the mogul wouldn't even boot back up, i had to hard rest 3 times, to finally realize it was weather panel...atleast thats what i thought it was, cause after i uninstalled it, it booted fine. I really like this rom...the threaded txt is awesome, and gps is really quick....

I have Alltel and have been running this ROM for 24 hrs now and all I can say is WOW!!! I am running Wisbar Adv. Desktop with D/\SH's Full Vista Theme and it is just beautiful... With the few mods i've made it is extremely functional... Everything you could want a suprephone to do.. all very simple and straitfoward. New ROM loads everything very fast and very quick screen response. Very pleased =D> GPS has yet to work on either ROM for me so far... still trying to mess with it reading on other's positive results. Here's some screenshots: |
