3.56 Data/Voice question.
I thought I read that when 6.1 arrived, we would be able to use data even when a call was going. I searched again and did not find that refereance although PDANet 2.0 has a new feature called Proxy Mode. Does anyone know if I am just smoking crack or if this is just not implimented Sprintside or not?
No offense to the crack smokers... But if you ever need to sell your Mogul, hit me up... Zarlof |
Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
You have to have a EV icon.1x icon means no data and phone calls. EVDO allows multi task on data on phone a call. Hope thats is clear. This also works on WM 6.0

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Outside of PDANet's proxy mode, I've never heard of that... Especially as a WM6.1 feature. Obviously I could have missed something, but otherwise, sorry man.

But yeah, no voice and data at the same time... |
Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
I thought that EVDO rev A allowed both? I know I was in Daytona this weekend and I was on the phone while using Live search for GPS and the map keeped on downloading while I was on the phone.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Nope this doesn't exist. I've asked this question before and it basically boils down to you would need 2 seperate radios one for voice and one for data which no CDMA carrier does or ever will do.

Only one radio - that switches between the different tower "channels". Both tower "channels" are not active simultaneously.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
To End All Of The Speculation, For Sure There Is No Way To Be On An Active Call And Still Be Downloading Anything. Wether Its 1x, Evdo, Or Evdo Rev A, You Can Not Be On A Call And Connected To The Internet At The Same Time!!! As Of Yet At Least, No Work Around Or Anything Will Allow You To Do That, Unless You Are On A Call And Wifi, But You Probably Already Know That.
