Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth
i think the touch dialer is what caused the problem. nothing remedied it for me but a hard reset and not installing it again.
this was on a no2chem rom...didn't try it on this wm5 one but still i believe that's where the prob is. once again i got the touch dialer working with .m4a ringers by including the touch dialer in my kitchen rom. |

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth
well i have gone all the way back and i have some bad news, i didnt try using the kitchen but the readymade wm5 rom in the first post wont play back m4a ringers. I stuck them in the /windows/rings folder. These all played fine before in the WM6 roms.
yet, m4a will play in windows mobile 10, and in tcpmp. I dont get it. I finally fixed my gps after the latest 6.1 update borked the pri. and i really like the wm5. short of converting all my ringers to mp3 i dont know why it wont play m4a. Theedon ....what did you break on the ringers playback engine I am using your stock dialer in the .nbh rom. |

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth
Theedon,
What BT drivers are you using? These work great for the titan. Just curious where they came from, I know you said that the WM6 drivers will not work on WM5, however will the WM5 drivers work perhaps on WM6. This could fix the WM6.1 BT issues with the titan for many of us. Can you post your BT module for the kitchen in .cab format? I still am not getting any .m4a files playing through the phone ringers. Temp fix: convert all to .mp3 with dbpoweramp. Working great now. Wonder why its not working. I tried it right out of the box. Finally after getting it all set up. A few issues Im noticing. Camera shortcut broken. Not sure if the camera drivers are there. Volume wheel on titan, disabled during phone calls, cant durn the volume up and down No .m4a playback on phone app for ringers. Works fine in WM10 mobile. Ran Nochem VZW carrier cab, Did some housekeeping and seemed to get rid of sprints trace. I also assembled the kitchen. I always try to put too much in there. Better with the readymade roms Anyways, thanks again for fixing my BT issues with the Nissan 07-08 altima with Bose Navigation Systems. You truely made my weekend. |

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth
I finally switched from this rom to JD's WM6.1 Rom. 26 Megs free on boot. And 20 Megs with all my junk installed. About the same as WM5 rom. Pagepool 6 Meg default. Speed is good. Works very well in all respects. An oddity was noticed on install. I had 13 messages pop up in voicemail on Sprint that I had no idea existed. Seems that the new Sprint voicemail notification system that shows the number of messages in que was not working with the WM5 rom. Anyone else notice this. I had no idea that I had a single message on voicemail.
Seems like a good reason to move back to WM6. Also No2chem has made a breakthrough in free memory on the Mogul. See the nuerom 2.2 thread for more. |

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth
I am uploading some "minor" updates...
1. I fixed a bug in the smart dialer (if the phone was up for more than 18 hours the smart dialer would stop working... I believe this is fixed... 2. I changed the standard WM5 phone skin to the Crossbow dial pad... It is almost the same but the Crossbow is more 3D looking.... I believe this is what corrected item 1. 3. I cooked in the camera... I forgot to put it in when I did the last clean rom... 4. I changed the Internet sharing from the WM6.1 version to the WM6.0 version. The WM6.0 version lets you select the connection where the 6.1 version required you to hack the registry... 5. I cooked some roms for other carriers BUT I ONLY HAVE A SPRINT PHONE so they may not work... Brave ones who try, Post your results here so others can benefit. One more note... I don't use any ringtones except the OldPhone.wav that is in WM5 (and the occasional Duke Nukem3d mp3)... So I'm not in a position to figure out why the .m4a files don't work. Finally: I went for over 3 days without having to soft reset... the ram starts at ~25.5 and dropped over the first 24 hours to ~18.5 and then stayed there for the next 48 hours... I note this because I always see posts about how much memory is free after a soft reset but I haven't seen anyone bragging about how much memory is left after 72 hours!!! Heck, I couldn't even go 24hours without doing a soft reset with WM6.x... Last edited by theedon; 08-31-2008 at 09:31 PM. |

Re: WM5 + GPS Working + Bluetooth Update(31Aug08)
Theedon,
Assuming you have the same issue as I do, Wouldnt you like to be able to turn down the volume with the scroll wheel when someone is talking above the acceptable volume I cant for the world of me figure out why the m4a file extention does not work for the ringers. As I mentioned Next's carrier cabs seem to work flawlessly. Why reinvent the wheel there? Thanks again for working on this. |
