Re: BuildOS - What is status of Proxy?
My proxy settings are a server name, and port 8080. Maybe it's the 8080 part instead of just port 80? In the updater directory, there is Settings.ini file with:
[PROXY] type=automatic username= password= http= ftp= autoconfigurl= Can I change type to "manual"? Username and password are obvious. http:= is not so clear? proxyserver.company.com:8080? Or what goes there? Where can I set up the port number? |

Re: BuildOS - What is status of Proxy?
I could never get it to work under a proxy.

I'd recommend that you check out either the #ppcgeeks or #ppckitchen IRC chat room... (a great place for help)

Re: BuildOS - What is status of Proxy?
That's extra funny! IRC is blocked through the proxy here. The chat link page at PPCKitchen is also blocked. That's too bad. This laptop is much faster than my windows computer at home. It is only a single CPU 1.2 Ghz machine. My dual core runs Ubuntu Linux. When I used my home PC last night, it was dog slow playing with PPCKitchen. I think the USB might be a 1.0 also, which will really make this a PITA if I get to the point of flashing the ROM!
And before you say it, I can't use this laptop at home. It requires a VPN connnection that sends it to the same proxy server or it will shut down the network drivers after 5 minutes. |
