I appreciate the thanks. I never really got a positive response as to fleshing out my method, so I just kinda let it lay. Glad you were able to figure it out. It's not hard, just more steps, but honestly in the end you end up with a phone that is closer to the way the carrier would have wanted it had they bothered to offer the 6.1 update.

=D>Glad to let you know it worked for a first timer. In fact using QPST is the only way to go because I have already found a couple of uses for it now that I know how it works.......... Speaking of which, and I know this may be speaking at cross threads but, I noticed you used the "Alltel GPS with A-GPS - super fast lockon" thread to speed your GPS. What PDE IP address and PDE port did you use for USCC?

Also for those who Geocache here is a great program and its free! Its simple and will interface with google maps. As you will see it was written in the UK so some of the terms in the menus are not familier, but 15 minutes with the users guide will solve that.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

I used the info for Altell, it's a public IP that can be accessed from any carrier, so seems to work fine for me. Most other carriers have thiers on a private IP or behind a firewall where only their customers can access the server.

With Verizon buying Altell, this could disappear someday, but for now works fine.

You mention being able to flash back to original US Cell Rom, where do you get it and how?

They probably haven't changed, but may have gotten rearranged (or changed to @cs3g.com or something). Just make sure the 8 character ESN (it will be a combination of numbers and letters) is in the correct places and your msid (10 digit phone number) is in the right spots.

If the boxes are blank, I guess I don't know how to recover them.

As for other settings, you shouldn't really have to change much else, unless something really obvious is wrong (such as the wrong phone number/msid is entered). Installing the DCD USCC carrier cab should put the other settings where they need to be. You may also want to try a PRL update if you haven't (dial *228 and listen to the lady yap at you lol).
