The files are signed with a developer certificate so you will probably need to turn security off before they'll work correctly. I found a file to do that here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330291

You will probably need to do a soft reset after installing.
Let me know how it works out!

if someone figures out the Cell South please post it.. I've been playing with it for two weeks... it goes from that to digital roam depending on where in the state I am... I also have been trying to get my program memory down as well... I can't run more than one application at a time... I've flash with what I think is bare bones but by the time I get my e-mail, contacts, garmin on there I can't listen to audio book and run garmin at the same time... I can't figure people having 30 applications... and I have a 8 gig card... waste of money if I can't get past the limitations of the basic operating system... I can't figure out how to get the option of flash loading stuff on my storage card to releave some space...

there's an app that lets you change the operater name
however, it wont fix any other underlying issues

It can be changed by editing this registry entry

HKLM/System/state/phone/Current Operator Name

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Fix for cellsouth banner in phone mode. Use at your own risk!

Place phone in diagnostic mode by pushing Send, ##DIAG, and Send again.
Use QPST v2.7 in Service Progamming client.
Read Phone and look in Display tab.
Change Banner from cellsouth to US Cellular.
Write to Phone.

Setup items.
Driver for QPST, Windows XP.
http://www.vzam.net/uploadedfiles/WM...rInstaller.exe
QPST Configuration,
Click Ports tab and Click Add New Port.
Choose COM? USB/QC Data Modem from the list and Click OK to add.

This fixed my phone, it says US Cellular after a soft reset and *228.:headbang:
Thanks to maverick351ci, for getting this party started for us.

does, ##778 work?

HI there. Thanks for all this info. I have been uploading, downloading, flashing, reflashing, relocking, unlocking . . . this forum and thread has made it so much fun, especially with all the good info and discussions here.

Most recently I accidentally let Sprint customizations run. I knew not to but it slipped by me (it was late)!

I have a two part question, please give me your feedback/ideas:

1) The reason I used Sprint's upgrade was because I couldn't get the titan_radio_3.35.04 to load/flash after I unlocked with OLLIPRO 2.40 (it gave me a 3xx error code). Do you think this is because I needed to relock first?

At this point I can make/receive calls and make/receive text and wifi works. But NO data, email, or gps or anything like that. None of the ## codes that work with USCC work on my phone right now (*228, ##3424, the epst pw is NOT 000000, etc) and "SprintPCS" is all over my phone!

2) I do want to accomplish this upgrade! How can I, or rather, can I basically start again by downgrading with the USCC stock ROM? The next obvious question is can anyone point me to the stock ROM? I have been looking everywhere for a few days with no luck.

I am not really afraid of the risk and what *might* happen since I am already basically using a bigger, less sexy LG UX260/Rumor! ha ha!

I do have a good relationship with my USCC local "peeps" but I have a sneaking suspicion they won't be so willing to help with "SprintPCS" scrawled across my screen!

Thanks so much!

A few add-ons to this...
You must do the *228 after this change
You must change the username in the security tab of EPST for the data to work.

I just learned this the hard way :)

leanintoit 05-05-2008 03:34 AM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

I did not have to do anything with EPST.
FYI The Security tab does not show up in VIEW mode. You must be in EDIT mode.
Freaked me out when I didn't have a Security tab:)

What was in your username data field before you changed it, and what did you change it to? Mine says xxxxxxxxxxatcs3g.com and (at=@) so it wouldn't make a link.

I did do *228 just to try and make sure that the US Cellular banner stuck. Maybe you do have to do it and I just stumbled through it.

outback 05-05-2008 09:45 AM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

mine said my10digit @ cs3g.com also.
cs = CellSouth
I don't see how it's possible that it worked without changing this to be @uscc.net
My data would not work until then.
It does hold after the *228 though :)

I need a little more information on the cell south fix... I downloaded the program it just loads / unloads a driver... am I suppose to dump this on the phone or what? this doesn't show up as a new program... next question what or where is the QPST Configuration? thanks again for all the help and support!!

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

You need to download the QPST 2.7 program itself.
The link above is only for the drivers needed to see the phone.

Here is a rapidshare link: http://rapidshare.com/files/9279799/QPST_2.7_B215.zip

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

outback,

Did your data work between the ROM flash and changing the banner whith QPST?
The reason I ask is all we did with QPST is read the phone, change the banner(no other changes), and write to the phone. So the cs3g.com along with the cellsouth banner had to have been there since the ROM flash.

I don't understand how data worked at all, or why mine kept working while yours stopped working after the banner change.

I have had no problems at all with data but I am going to change cs3g.com to uscc.net in EPST.

outback 05-05-2008 11:43 PM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Yeah, I had problems with the ROM flash when I was the first USCC to go to WM6.1 using the kitchen. We got that all changed and I had been working flawlessly for a while.
I read the phone, changed the banner, and it showed the cs3g.com again somehow.
The data would not work until I changed the cs3g.com to uscc.com

maverick351ci 05-06-2008 12:19 AM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

i did the QPST banner fix, worked flawlessly, and stays even with a hard reset. also you will have to change the data settings in the "EPST" menu from @cs3g.com to @uscc.net when you first get the rom update on, then it will hold trough all the kitchens and roms you put on or at least i have never had to change mine again

leanintoit 05-06-2008 02:34 AM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

I'm not really clear on something. After the first ROM flash and everything is working with no problems, what needs to be done to install the next new Kitchen ROM.

I mean do you have to start again with step 4 and load Hard-SPL-MFG 2.40 bootloader, and then skip to step 6 or can you just do a hard reset and the bootloader screen will appear and then start step 6. Someone clear this up for me please.

I have a USCC that ran Sprint customizations. I reflashed, relocked (BAD IDEA), then unlocked, then reflashed Sprints official rom w/radio (because I can't seem to get just the radio to flash), DID NOT let it run customizations, flahsed custom ROM with PPCKitchen, and now I have:

A SprintPCS labled phone (I will try to do the QPST later today and see if that helps), I have changed all EPST to reflect USCC settings (at least all I have found to change). Data still doesn't work - any ideas - anyone?

Thanks.

Well then........Sounds good. One thing that I can't figure is that I read about people letting the Sprint setup files run. Is that the same as that autorun file that USCC uses after a hard reset? If not how do I keep it from setting up?

Totaly a NOOB at this and doing much research b4 i go and do this.

One last thing though..... Is there a stock USCC ROM to go back to b4 I attempt this?

As far as I read and have looked there is no way to do it with a stock USCC ROM.

Been browsing the modules in the build OS and cant figure out what I need or want installed on the it.

What is a good over all choice selection. I see some stuff all ready that I will add so far. But what about xtras? Like for Bluetooth and Camera? The basic essentials that I will need that I currently use.

Is there anything also that "If its not installed it won't work" that I need to be aware of? Don't want to be somewhere and pull my phone out and want to do something but I forgot to install it.

That is my point exactly . It's the little things that even though you may not think about at the time of putting it all together then you need it.

One of the biggest things that saved me time was using the OEMizer, which saves a lot of your personal settings in there. I don't know the exact name of the program but it's an option to use from the menu of BuildOS.

President Fluid 05-29-2008 12:58 AM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Ok but personal settings is not what I am looking for. What I was looking for is a list of the stock programs that come OEM on it. I looked and there is a lot of little things that can be over looked easily like Slide tone and stuff that are in sub menus.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

well the reason its a kitchen is so you can leave out things from the stock rom if you dont use 'em. now granted - there could possibly be some kind of mark indicating what is stock or not for n00bs (dont think there is, but i know u can right click for more info on most items) - besides that, most anything u miss you can find a cab for

now that you brought up OEMiser... I did find it, did fill it out on 5060 and updated some stuff on 5067 but it does not load any of the information anymore. I end up re-entering everything. I don't know if I turned something On or Off but it doesn't appear to look at the OEMiser when cooking anymore...

mykleh35 06-03-2008 04:52 PM

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Shiftmx... not sure what your updater issue is but you can only update one thing at a time as there are bugs... as to not seeing US Cellular are you grabbing "Titan_No2Chem_5060_WM6.1 selections" that has the USCC not sure about the others...

5tryk3r... I've called USCC and Utstarcom and US Cellular said they see no reason and UT said they won't unless the carrier requests one.... feel free to call the more people that make the effort the more pressure that is applied.. I couldn't even get the stock Rom out of either in case of the need to go back to stock...
