I actually helped a coworker with his and his will stay and function in EVDO. I haven't noticed any differences between ours though. All the programming seems to be the same. I actually flashed his and used the same config for mine but for some reason i still keep getting kicked out. I'm going to call tech team later on it tomorrow. (obviously not mentioning anything about the update)

--------IF 000000 DOESN'T WORK ON YOUR PHONE LET ME KNOW AND I'LL LOOK UP YOUR LOCK CODE FOR YOU!!!! Just message me.----------

USCC currently only provides EVDO in two (2) areas (one of which is Wisconsin... cant remember the other) As per their Data people, "Towers are being upgraded and tested in areas prior to providing EVDO in that specified area". So, if you're going into 1x for data, then you are more than likely in a non-EVDO area.

!!NOTE: SECTION BELOW EDITED!! (SEE POST #182 ON PG. 19)
However, IF YOU ARE IN AN EVDO AREA the addresses within the security section of EPST should be: "@EVDO.cs3g.com" as opposed to "@uscc.net".

Ok, what you need to do is use QPST to change the banner name PERMENANTLY (as in: it will be persistant after any future OS ROM, or CARRIER CAB "reflashes")

1st- Go into EPST EDIT (via dialing ##778 and entering 000000 as
security code).

2nd- Change every instance that reads "CellSouth" to read "US Cellular"

3rd- *Follow THIS guide; STEPS #1 thru #9 (Disregard that it is a GPS fix
Steps #1 thru #9 is the only way I know how to get QPST to read
the Titan.) see below RE: GPS

4th- Once you've completed step #9, go to the "Display" tab in the QPST
and change the banner (you'll see where it still reads "CellSouth") to
read "US Cellular".

5th- Once that is changed (and that ONLY), press the "Write to phone"
selection on the bottom left. DO NOT "SAVE TO FILE" BECAUSE
YOU WILL OVERWRITE THE BACK-UP THAT YOU HAVE
PREVIOUSLYCREATED IN STEP #9!

6th- Exit QPST, and soft reset your phone... you're done!

"i was about to ask the exact same thing... now i've had mine up and running for about 2 weeks now, but i haven't been able to access my gps location in about a week. the first time it did take awhile now it tries to connect to gps, and i see the data connecton but it just keeps trying until it errors out.. whats the problem.. why aren't i a gps connection?"

*NOTE: You can finish the GPS fix if desired (i recommend it... it worked great for me), just make sure that you "write to phone" before going to the "Display" tab for your banner fix, or it won't take the change.

hmm, PERMENANTLY change the banner, that's tempting... i think i'll try it :D

LMAO... That's exactly what happened to me; they decided that because thier "checklist" troubleshooting didn't work (re: fixing data connection) they sent me a new phone (received it 2 days later). Well, I re-flashed the new phone and the same problem with the data connection occured after I installed the USCC Carrier CAB... well, I called them again and tried to use some subtle "social engineering" to get the info I needed to fix the Security Settings Tabs in EPST... didn't work, now they're sending me YET ANOTHER PHONE! THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK AS TO WHY THEY HADN'T RECEIVED MY ORIGINAL ONE FROM THE LAST REPLACEMENT PHONE! Well, about 1 hour after speaking to the data tech, I tinkered with the EPST settings and figured it out; I even had a USCC friend call in to verify the settings with thier data tech (apparently, they will discuss that with another UCC agent), they discussed how they tried to fix my settings in the past, BUT MADE NO MENTION OF THE PHONE THAT THEY SENT OUT! Now i'm waiting on that 3rd phone (in less than 2 weeks) although my phone is working. I'm going to send back my original first phone (as the return for the first replacement), and see if I can get away with keeping the other (3rd) one that's coming... lol, I"M HOPING I DON'T GET A $1,000.00 bill! Also, I'm trying to find a USCC "stock" RADIO (and possibly SPL) to re-flash to "stock" before I send it back; no luck yet... ANYBODY HAVE ONE? I DO HAVE A 'STOCK' FLASHABLE USCC OS ROM, but that's it! What do you guys think? Has anyone had this happen to them? Will they "catch on" and charge for the phones?

They keep very good track of the phones that they send out and they will charge you for any phone that is not sent back. And the phones that never return are marked as bad ESN's and can not be activated.

I feel like a complete idiot, but where do I find this option. I had to do it the first time I flashed to get GPS working, now that I've reflashed I can't remember where I found the option ](*,)

From the phone (dialer screen) -> menu -> options -> services - location settings

or

start -> settings -> phone -> menu -> options -> services - location settings

Lol... Yes, I'm sure you are correct. It's not worth the time and headache(s) that it will more than likely create when attempting to "correct" my bill! It isn't that I need, or would like to keep, more than one phone... I just hate to have to tweak the new one since I now have the current one operational and "loaded"; I assume that they are expecting THAT [current] one to be returned. Thanks for the reply, President.

BTW, DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW HOW TO EXTRACT A 'STOCK' RADIO AND/OR SPL? (AND/OR) CAN ANYONE DIRECT ME TO ANY RESOURCE THAT CAN HELP ACCOMMODATE THAT? I've had some luck getting a flashable signed OS ROM (USCC) from ImCokeMan, but no luck w/the remainder of the firmware; I think that can be helpful to have around here. If anyone can help out with this, I CAN THEN EXTRACT IT FROM THE NEW DEVICE THAT'S COMING IN, BEFORE I FLASH IT, OR SEND IT BACK! It would be beneficial for every USCC customer here to have a "Stock ROM package" just in case a "return to stock" re-flash is needed.

I am in Wisconsin and have not flashed my phone at all yet. The only place in EPST that has an email address is under the M.IP Default Profile section. It is the NAI field. It has my MSIDNumber@uscc.net. I don't see any EVDO in any part of the EPST reports. I get and use EVDO daily. If I stay in southeast Wisconsin, I see the Ev icon at the top. It changes to 1x when I travel of course. And the speed difference is very noticable!

Not sure where you are seeing that address.

When you enter EPST you get the selection of editing and viewing. There is a security tab in the menu list that only shows if you select Edit. It is hidden if you select the View choice at start up.
