Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Yes. simply flash the rom package DCD 3.0.1
the biggest problem with the 3.35 radio was getting it properly installed. if that is truly what you have, then the hard part is over. from here you can flash straight to ANY COMPATIBLE rom there are instances of certain radio/rom incompatibilities bricking these phones (i believe DCD himself has one ) but you appear to be beyond that now just determine which method to use...SD card method or activesync method. And Let DCD's customizations run after you load the new rom P.S. if you ever use the SD method and it wont load the file, invalid, cant find it etc... try pulling the sd card a few times and/or resetting/pulling the battery for 10seconds or so. every now and then these phones will simply not properly read or launch the renamed .nbh file even though there is nothing actually wrong with it. |
Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Yes, I verified the radio again....I am now upgrading to dcd 3.0.1. I have confidence in you guys so I know this is going to do it right?
I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.... |
Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Well, I am very happy to say that so far everything is fantastic. I haven't tried all of the bells and whistles yet but the phone rings, I can make and receive calls and I'm showing a data signal but haven't tried to check email or gps etc.
You guys are awesome. I can't thank you enough for all of your help. The next beer is on me....thank you everyone! Rick |
Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Well, it looks like everything is Sprint and so I am unable to use the data to get email. I tried to use the unlock code to change the NAM settings but it doesn't work now. I also notice my PRL, HA addresses and some other settings have changed. I have started to do some research and apparently because I was having problems and someone said to let the sprint customizations run, that is why I have sprint all over the phone. I have also read that I need to reflash the original Qwest Rom and Radio (which I cannot find so far) and then once again flash to sprint's latest and then to dcd's. You guys have gotten me here so far so I trust your input. Is this correct and if so, do you know where I can find the Qwest Radio? Thank you.
Rick P.S. I tried 'Get SPC' and it didn't work for me either. |

Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Get SPC does NOT appear to give Qwest subscribers the proper MSL unlock code.
i had to call qwest to get mine. i simply explained that the phone froze, i had to do a hard reset and now my data does not work While retaining Olipro 2.40 as my bootloader, I was able to successfully downgrade to the original Qwest 2.13 rom and the compatible radio 1.40 (1.39 is our original radio, but no one seems to have it) before i called qwest. It turns out that since all i needed was to get my proper MSL from qwest and edit my mdn and msid, i am not convinced that a downgrade is needed. if i had to do it over again, i would call qwest 1st and see if editing those 2 settings fixes the problem BEFORE i reloaded the original 2.13 rom the only caveat to all this, is that i also let the sprint customizations run and i have never been able to get my wifi working since. this could be related or it could just be a coincidence. ( i have dropped my phone many times.) |
Re: Qwest rom upgrade to dcd 3.0.1- data works- wifi does not
Now how strange is this....after inputting my unlock code 8 or 10 times it finally worked. I was able to change the name to Qwest, change the IP addresses for HA and AA back to the original as well as input the secret codes. I changed the PRL but it did not save it. I cannot get email as it says it cannot connect with the #777 dial string. So, it looks like I'm still in the same boat. I called an acquaintance at Qwest and verified my unlock code is the one I have been using. My mdn and msid are correct. When I go into view (##778#) everything seems to be correct except my PRL says 60610 and the PRL capacity default is different. Do you have any thoughts on this?
I came home tonight and kept putting in my MSL and it finally said there were too many tries, it had a bar like it was loading something and I reset the mogul before it was complete. Not sure what that was all about either. |
