Re: ROM preference?...Why?

IMO it all depends on what works for you.
I started off with DCD 3.0.1 . loved it except for some odd things (couldnt get MMS to work properly (VZW)).. but everything else was perfect.
flashed over to No2Chem 5054.. MMS worked, but couldn't beam..
went back and forth between the 2 for a couple of days.. you basically try them out and see what you like/don't like.... then chose the lesser of 2 evils..

personally, now that i am able to finally BT Receieve BEAMS on my no2Chem rom, it's the perfect setup. and i'm not touching a THING...

it all boils down to personal preference. just try some out, and fly from there.

3.35 enables GPS. Even if you don't use it, nice to know it's there. Also, 5060 puts 5048/5049 to shame.

3.16 was the leaked ROM which also enables GPS and some say Rev A, however AFTER upgrading my radio from the 3.27 to 3.35 the time GPS took to lock on decreased, also able to acquire GPS indoors vs w/ 3.16 i HAD to go outside to get a lock.

In regards to my current ROM, using a custom made w/ no2chem's 5060 (prior to the bT beam fix) so i will prolly reflash again soon... then again, if i wait a week, no2 might put something even better out... lol... really though it's all about experimenting and finding out what works for you!!!

Wifi randomly turning on
battery drain
Voice problems (call's connected, but no audio)---I have only this seen this issue w/DCDs even though I'm obviously using the same radio

I am running a rom I cooked from DCD's latest kitchen. I checked almost no options before building, going for a super clean rom. I have 25+ MB ram on boot with no bugs that I can think of right now.

Anyway, I do not seem to have any of those problems. But let me elaborate. I keep the wifi switch in the "On" position but keep it turned off in the comm manager. I keep a constant data connection with IM+ and email and get about 24 hours of battery life with the phone asleep with no use. No voice problems at all.

Does IM+ disconnect you when recieve a call? It does it to me every single time. My data connection goes dormant (suspended) then back to active when the call is over, but IM+ forces me to reconnect. If you know a way around this, that would be great....

Had been usig DCDs ROM but went and tried the PPCkitchen and seems to run much faster and havent had to do any soft-resets in days. With DCDs rom would have to every once and a while. Then again like most people here, gimme a few days and ill have a different opinion and a different ROM on my phone!

Yes, this is the way things are supposed to work. Future CDMA phones should support using data and voice simultaneously. To cut down on annoying your contacts, use wifi when at home.
