Please provide instructions to use latest no2 basekit in kitchen
I am sure that many would benefit from someone posting instructions on integrating no2chem's latest basekit release into the ppcgeeks kitchen. Would someone please provide detailed (as necessary) instructions to do this?

If you don't know how to do it yourself, you probably shouldn't be using it just yet.

wow, thanks guys. *sarcasm*
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=3548 This helpful post by boggsie gives a good description of how to use the 5059 basekit with the kitchen. For anyone who has flashed using the 5060 basekit, are these instructions still applicable? I will test it when I get home if no one replies and post my results. |

Re: Please provide instructions to use latest no2 basekit in kitchen
The 5060 basekit gave me some trouble (what I did for 5059 wasn't enough), but eventually I got it working by piecing together tips from other posts in his thread. From what I hear, there's a "lenny" version of it up on the FTP in no2chem's folder that apparently works flawlessly without having to jiggle the handle so much. Might want to check that out.

Re: Please provide instructions to use latest no2 basekit in kitchen
I think I have come to a conclusion. I will not even attempt to utilize an unofficial kitchen (means I won't use the kitchen unless it has a relatively current No2 release included) I realize No2 releases ROMS faster than the dev team could be expected to keep up with. I have read every post/comment about integrating various basekits into the kitchen and have tried every tip offered and it still eludes me. I realize support isn't offered for unofficial releases so I won't ask anymore. thankfully, No2 is very good at providing ROM's that work just great for me, just need to let sdconfig run and I get what I want.

Re: Please provide instructions to use latest no2 basekit in kitchen
I was successfully able to cook up a ROM in the kitchen using no2chem's 5060 basekit. LennySh made it possible by releasing an install on the ftp that inserts the no2chem 5060 basekit into the kitchen.
I am of the 'cleaner is better' mindset, so I only included the most of the basic components from the kitchen. I encountered a couple of anomalies, including the calculator did not work (installed 1-Calc Lite to fix), an invalid shortcut to Sliding Sounds under Settings --> Personal (installed no2's sliding sound control to fix), an invalid shortcut to Clear Storage under Settings --> System (installed Clear Storage to fix, but there are now two entries for Clear Storage for some reason), and the Beam does not work despite trying a number of different things. After a fresh restart, I get ~15 Mb of free memory. |
