Read my prior post and the upgrading threads I linked to. Your phone is showing symptoms of a mismatch amongst the ROM, radio, and bootloader. Boot your phone into bootloader (Power-Camera-Reset) and see what bootloader you have. If it is a 1.xx bootloader, install the Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL BEFORE you flash a level 3.xx ROM. Once you have the Olipro 2.40 Hard-SPL unlocker installed, then flash the official stock Sprint 3.35 OEM ROM. If your phone is not a Sprint phone, do not let the Sprint customizations run, and immediately flash a custom ROM that is designed for your carrier. If you have a Sprint phone, let everything run.

If you still have problems, post your carrier, bootloader version from the bootloader screen, and the ROM and radio versions from the bottom of the boot-up screen.

Im running olipro 2.40 rom with Ruu 2.17. For some reason Vista won't let me install 3.35? It keeps crashing.

Olipro 2.40 is not a ROM, it is a bootloader. RUU is not a ROM, it is the program that updates ROMs.

To verify what has actually been successfully installed on your phone, put your phone in bootloader by holding Power and Camera buttons while pressing the stylus into the reset hole. When you get a very colorful screen, let go of the buttons and write down what it says on the screen. Then reset your phone and watch the screen as it boots up; on the bottom of the screen, it will display a D with a number and an R with a number. Write those numbers down also. Then post all of that information here so we can determine what you need to do. Also give more details as to what happens when you try to install the 3.35 ROM.

also from what i've read you need special drivers for Vista, since i use XP i dont pay to much attention to that... but try flashing 3.35 from an XP MAchine maybe?

I had the same problem in XP. What I had to do was download a RUU off the FTP and copy the .NBH from the official rom into the RUU folder and it flashed fine that way.

Hey, can anybody help me out here? I was having similar issues. But thanks to this thread, I at least have a working phone now. So I started with a stock rom from Sprint. I don't remember for sure which one but I know it wasn't 2.17. Anyhow, I decided to go with the new 3.35 rom to see if I could get a good rom with all the fixins and still stay legit. Unfortunately the 3.35 did not even come close to the dcd 2.3.X. I then decided that wanted a custom rom. I tried time and again to flash a 2.4 Olipro, no2chem or dcd with no success on Vista or XP. I then downgraded to 1.2 Olipro and made the mistake of flashing no2chem's 5058 which is how I ended up here. LOL! So after following what I learned here, I'm currently on 2.17. Now I'm faced with my mogul not taking the 2.4 Olipro nor the 3.35. When I try to flash 2.4 it does the whole thing to 100% (too fast in my opinion) but the SPL never actually upgrades. If I try to flash 3.35, I get stuck at 11%. I really want my GPS and Rev A but with a clean custom rom. I will settle for the stinkin 3.35 if I have no choice. Is this where that so-called "relocker" comes into play? Thanks to all those who have got me this far here. Best wishes!

Apparently, you are very lucky that you dodged the bricking bullet in downgrading from 3.35 to 2.17, as at least one of the gurus here has bricked phones attempting it.

At this point it appears that you have the 1.20 Olipro bootloader and the stock 2.17 ROM. Your choices for upgrading are:

Method 1

1. Install Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL bootloader
2. Flash stock 3.35 ROM
3. (Optional) Flash a custom ROM based on stock 3.35

Method 2

1. Install relocked bootloader
2. Flash stock 3.35 ROM
3. (Optional) Install Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL bootloader then a custom ROM based on stock 3.35

When you tried installing the Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL, did you allow the RUU that kicks off in the middle of it to run? That is a necessary step in properly installing the bootloader.

I allowed the RUU to run the full 100% I even got the congrats message. However, I believe it did that way too fast to be real. Consequently, I enter the boot loader and it still says 1.2 Olipro. Do you have a copy of the relocker?
