Re: No image on phone after upgrade

4.FOR THE ORIGINAL UPGRADE:

I followed the steps in "An easy guide for upgrading.." until the Update Utility encountered and error in which it asked me to:

1. Disconnect the usb from the phone
2. Pull out the battery and wait 30 seconds
3. Reinstall the battery
4. Reconnect the USB cable

After following those steps it said everything was completed successfully in the recovery process and the 10 seconds later gave me an error where it could not continue.

SINCE THAT INITIAL ERROR:

1. The Utility no longer works when I try it.

2. Followed the steps in Stuck in the Bootloader Screen thread for Vista. I noticed my phone reset after using the exit bootloader program. Nothing changed though.

3. I tried flashing from the SD card but nothing worked. I am gussing because my card may not be formatted right. I will try that later on today. I cannot try it now because my Laptop gives me an I/O error everytime I try to access the SD card. It has always done that for some reason. It works for the sd card on my camera, but not the pne from my phone. I will have to visit my friend later and have hm reformat it and load it. He originally loaded the nhb file last time for me but we did not check the formatting on the card.

4. I tried running the Relocker and Hard SPL application but they give me an error about the device not being connected. I tried it with USB Connection turned on and off in Mobile Center with no success.

5. I tried to load the 2.17 Rom and it tried but got to 1% and gave me a communication error just like the first time [Error 262]. Followed the rocovery steps and it said it went fine, but the update stopped functioning. Same as with the original time.

Edit: I am thinking my only hope is to try different roms? My only problem is that some require the unlocker or relocker as these both will not work on my phone. Maybe it is my computer? I have never experienced problems with it but who knows. I'll keep trying. As far as updating from the sd card, tht will have to wait until I can hit up my friend to reformat and load the nbh on the card.

Well, I think I am getting somewhere. I finally managed to get to my friends house and reformat the sd card. I loaded the 2.17 on one card and the new rom nbh on another. I am attempting to try the 2.17 first (by accident) I had forgotten which card had which rom until it had already started. My phone now says Loading.... It has been saying that for about 10 minutes. I will let it go for about n hour and if nothing changes I will try the other sd card.

Here are a few things you can try though (mostly reiteration of what hotbyz said). Trying from an XP computer might help. I always flash mine from Vista, but there is usually less troubleshooting to be done with XP. Start from scratch.

The old bootloader/relocker is here: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...n_Relocker.exe

I couldn't get 2.17 to reload when I tried, but if you want to give it a shot the .nbh is here: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...RUU_signed.rar

You'll just need to put that nbh file in the RUU folder and run RomUpdateUtility.exe. Here is a link to the RUU: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...N/roms/RUU.rar

If that doesn't work you can try flashing 2.17 from the SD card (again didn't work for me, but it was my first attempt at flashing from SD). I've heard the card needs to be formatted in FAT32, so do that first. Then rename the .nbh from above to TITAIMG.nbh and place it on the root of your SD card. Put the card in your phone, and go into bootloader mode (Camera+Power+Reset simultaneously). Should start flashing the image from the SD, at least that is my understanding.

If you can't load 2.17 at all, and you're still stuck in the bootloader, just try flashing to 3.35 from the official update exe. Maybe try a fresh download of that too. There are mirrors all over the place, but I know the one on the FTP worked for me:
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/RUU/RUU_...CS_AM_Ship.exe

If that still doesn't work you can try extracting the nbh from that exe and flashing from SD again using the method described above.

If that doesn't work try loading Olipro's 2.40 bootloader from here: ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/Im...rd-SPL-MFG.exe

Then try reloading 3.35 with both methods above. I'm sure you've already tried a lot of this, but I was just trying to give you some ideas of steps you can take, and a consolidated source of links so you don't have to hunt around. Hope that helps:) Let us know if you get it sorted out.
