Conspiracy Theory??

So, after updating my Mogul with the new official ROM goodness, and thinking 'it's about time!', something hit me....what if the reason it took so long to become public was that Sprint (or HTC) 'leaked' the version everyone has been using to customize, and Sprint (or HTC) has been reading all of the posts about what works/what doesn't?

Think about it - the No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) thread alone has over 2400+ responses, with over 200,000+ views!! That's alot of unpaid volunteer Beta testers!! The official ROM thread has over 1000+ responses and 130,000+ views. If you were a software company, wouldn't you try to take advantage of that???

I am sure neither company would ever admit it, but after getting blasted for the last 'official' ROM, I am sure they did their best to make this one as good as it could be....

Am I crazy? (ok, don't answer that)....but, the truth is out there somewhere!

BTW - not sure if it's been said lately, but thanks to PPCGEEKS, DCD, No2Chem and all of the other brave pioneers for at least helping this phone geek keep his 'phone of the moment' fresh!

naw... it's just normal corporate release cycles... it takes a while when every other owner wants to dial up their lawyer if they find a misspelled error dialog message. I kid you not.

Ahh - good point!! It is hysterical the number of 'Class Action Suit' threads you see on message boards these days....I keep waiting for the one about the 'Enable/Disable' -vs- 'Enabled/Disabled' EPST dialog setting!

If I was HTC and was actually reading this board, after seeing all of those morons with the calls to form a class action over every other stupid thing, I would completely cut off support for the device. I have never seen a phone get as many updates as the Titan has, yet there are some who still think they are entitled to more and more. And GODFORBID everything doesnt work perfectly.

Yup, been there done that. We can't even push a new page on our corporate web site unless every single word and punctuation mark has been cleared by legal.

Re: Conspiracy Theory??

Amen!! I do understand the concerns where people say 'we paid $$$$ for a phone that doesn't work'....but some of the things people are freaking over are pretty funny.

It was kinda like when the iPhone came out...people read for months about what it had/didn't have, waited in line for hours, bought it....then complained about what it had/didn't have....

I run through phones like some people go through, um, things that people go through quickly, and as long as it does what it says, I am perfectly happy hacking/tweaking to make it do above/beyond!! Thank God/Buddha/Allah/Bono for PPCGEEKS and XDA!!

Thats because there has never been a phone with such horrible software(HTC), total lack of any good driver, and lack of support almost 100% on HTC's end. On top of that knowing all of this the providers still released it.

If HTC/Sprint Were smart they would have a beta test program for their users. It wouldn't cost them anything.. and there would be plenty of guinea pigs.

Thats BS first of all. No phone I know of has video drivers. Its just our certain processor which has trouble playing videos correctly. And what does HTC have to do with the software? They provide the hardware and the firmware. The software, and all of your problems with the phone, come from Microsoft. The "memory leak", Microsofts problem. And lack of support? Are you kidding me? They have given 3 Rom updates since I bought the phone, I think that is pretty good support for a phone. And what manufacturer of a phone provides support directly to consumers in any other fashion than releasing firmware updates? Does a person with a RAZR on Verizon contact Motorola for support? Of course not, they contact Verizon. So since all of your claims against HTC are BS, I will rest my case. You knew what you were getting when you bought the phone. It is Sprint that promised more than the phone could offer at the point you bought it, and eventually they made it right. Sprint is who you have ANY validity at being pissed at.

That's so not true. There have def been worse phones.

They do. But average users are not part of it. They have a special group of users that get that priviledge.

I do have to say this.....remember when you would buy something and it just worked? Out of the box? No tweaking? You'd probably have to be at least 25-30. LOL
