Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I have my Mogul through Qwest, service which I've had for years because I've basically bullied them into a pretty sweet plan and haven't wanted to go to another provider, however, with the new Sprint update, I'm wondering if / when I could every see something so grand with my provider.

I'm sitting on ROM version 2.13.656.2

Is there anything I can do. I'm interested in, of course, GPS capabilities, but I'd also like to see a fix for the lack of alarm while charging and the fact that I can't hear anyone talking over bluetooth ever.

I've never been into the idea of using home brew updates and roms and things, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes at this point.

What's odd is that Qwest actually uses Sprint towers for everything anyway, and I can even log into both "Qwest" services and "Vision" services if I want to. I wonder if there's a backup utilitie for my rom that would allow me to try the Sprint update....

Is the Sprint update any good anyway?

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I've been with Qwest for 9 years .... and I am getting sad now. It took years to get a PDA that seemed reasonable. Now no updates ...

I'm hoping when the Sprint contract with Qwest is up Qwest restructures the deal better or gets a contract with someone else!

I'm still looking to flash to a new ROM. DCD has one on XDA and there are other places I'm watching.](*,)

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I think you and I must be the only ones. I too have been with Qwest for a long time, ever since they started offering mobile service in Minnesota, probably at least 9 years. I was so excited when they finally started offering a little better selection of phones (Sprint's) but still, it seems so weak.

Have you actually tried the DCD rom at all? Does it still allow service with Qwest to work correctly. I've gotten so many deals from Qwest's loyalty department now that it would be sad to have to go to someone else (and pay full price) but I don't really know what else to do at this point.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I downloaded the DCD stuff. There is a really good tutorial on XDA and a lot of verizon and tellus people have used it. The kitchen is suprisingly easy to use ... and I'm not smart with this hub-bub.

So I PM'd a guy who says he can put together a ROM that is strictly the new Sprint ROM with Qwest necessities. He says since he can't test it, it might have problems the first (maybe second) time. I'm getting braver so I think I'm going to test it out.

If you want, I can tell you when we get the bugs out ...

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I've bugged Qwest myself about a possible update. I especially would like to have access to the sprint services that I'm paying for but can't get on my mogul (such as music store, tv, etc.) I also want to get the rev a update. But the people at Qwest know only what they read in the manuals... they don't seem to have a clue as to any of the Mogul's capabilities (or in our case, lack thereof). I'm quickly becoming sorry that I got my Mogul through Qwest...I guess I should've gone directly to Sprint and ate the extra money it would've costed me to sign up with Sprint.

I also find it funny that Qwest spends so much money advertising on this site and apparently they don't bother to read the posts from their own customers.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

I have a qwest phone (6800) and i use cricket service. All is not lost my friend, actually the contrary. U need to get your MSL or SPC code, "get SPC" will not work. i have a post which explains how to do it safely. (look up all my post and u will find it) Also i kept a copy of everything that goes into the extra-rom that is need for configuring your qwest phone to thier network. Once u have the SPC code then u record your MIN/MDN and security login and password/ and other important info.
I even have a copy of the stock 2.13 rom to revert back to just incase. So just load the right bootloader and find out what ROM works for u.

Fantastic... I'll have a look at that post.

My phone is sort of my life line, so I'm always leery of trying anything that might result in bricking my phone.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Understandable , no one wants a brick phone/ ill say the titan and apache are tuff phones and it takes alot to brick 1/ u really have to screw up to do it.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Well, it would be my luck that it would happen, I'm trying something new called "exercising restraint" which I'm usually not very good at. I've grabbed the original ROM you posted for "just in case", and maybe I'll have some free time this weekend to read up on how to make the new ROM happen RIGHT.

This is one of those situations where I wish that I had a little more experience, or someone with more experience would post a solid "How to Upgrade w/ Qwest Tutorial".

I also have Qwest service on my Mogul..it seems that because Qwest has it's own OS not everything that works with Sprint works with Qwest. I have tried many GPS hacks and none of them work. It would be nice to be able to access all of Sprint's offerings.. I wonder if any of the tethering hacks work on Qwest also. I checked one and it tells you to do registry hacks but the lines they talk about don't exist where he says to look. Oh well, it would be nice if they made up a thread for strictly Qwest so we can put in things that work and things that don't. Maybe some of the geek experts would be willing to help us <less unfortunate lol> people out. Good luck all and thanks for everything you do to help out.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

hey fellas,
its me again. U think u guys got it rough, cricket doesnt even sell moguls, so if i mess up thats it, im out a very expensive phone. and Cricket doesnt support any of the features on the 6800. BUT u guys need to realize that it just takes the right settings and info and u guys will be able to use all the features that the mogul has to offer. I have GPS working excellent, MMS , SMS, and i have EVDO going on even though cricket doesnt offer it in a plan in my area. thats because i got hold of a beta PRL that they r testing for my area. Once u load a custom rom u will be released from the restraints that the stock Qwest rom imposes, I have to go to work but if i get a chance i will right u guys up a tutorial, just post what it is exactly u want to do or achieve alright.
go to go c-ya later

Anything that you're willing to do to help, I would be appreciative.

I would love to try and get a little more out of this phone, and it isn't that I'm not willing to do the work for it, I just find it hard to make time to figure it out.

Qwest Mogul user here too, I've been running the sprint stock rom on qwest and everything works fine.. but I too am VERY upset with the service I've been getting from them, if my phone service weren't free (and I mean if I had to pay 10$ a month) I would cancel it and get on SERO.. They've really gone down hill with their customer service as of late I cant even get them to send me a replacement after they sent me my fifteenth refurb phone.. I'm tired of them.. but I'm sitting with a phone with a broken scroll wheel because they wouldnt send me a new one.. and they are NEVER going to release us an update..

I tried to email HTC about it, I've done it 3 times, but they havent returned any of them, and as already stated, nobody at qwest has ANY idea whats going on. I thought I was the only one unhappy. :(

Why not install the sprint rom? What does the Qwest rom have that you need? I ran the altell rom for a while when the sprint release was too buggy, and I would also like to point out that Qwest simply rebrands and resells sprint service, so it would only be natural...

I'm under the assumption that you cannot run the Sprint ROM on a Qwest Mogul.. I guess I've read wrong?

My Qwest Mogul will be here tomorrow and I hope to gain GPS access so I can run TomTom software without an external antenna... since Qwest hasn't run the update to enable gpsOne in the Mogul, and Sprint has, using the Sprint ROM would be ideal for me, unless it reduces functionality within other sections of the phone.

Can someone verify whether or not the Sprint ROM will work on a Qwest Mogul? ..if no, then how could I go about unlocking the ability to use the internal GPS chip for TomTom Navigator?

I think these other carriers think that if you were sophisticated enough, and enough of an 'advanced user' to figure out how to install or know of software updates, then you belong to communities like these where they take one carrier's updates and hack it for everyone else.

But really, Sprint must order these software updates from HTC at a price, and maybe these other carriers arent willing to pay it for the extremely small demographic of their customers.

What's wrong with the bluetooth on your Mogul? I haven't gotten mine yet, so it'd be nice to know what issues others are having with it, so I can keep an eye out for them..

It's my understanding, though, that you can run TomTom Navigator 5/6, and other GPS software, on the Mogul using a bluetooth GPS receiver/antenna, maybe this is an option if all else fails? It's what I'll be doing if I can't get the internal GPS chip recognized by TomTom Navigator 6.

yep. I would still like an official release.. I feel like using these roms should be unnecessarey since I'm paying so much every month and so much for the phone.. I am just asking for something.. not everything.. just SOMETHING from qwest.. even customer service that didnt suck.

If they're not going to go into it 100% they shouldnt at all, its terrible business to half *** a demographic, because if they ever make a full fledged attempt at that markey they've already lost themselves their previous customers and anyone that they could tell not to persue them.. It most defenitely can, and I have been for months now, the alltel rom had a few qwirks, but the sprint roms have all been nearly flawless.

The bluetooth issue for me is its excruciatingly quiet volume levels with most headsets. I've literally used half a dozen different headsets with varying (though very much unacceptable results), all but 2 of those I've used with other phones and had no problems at all.

Now I am using the Blueant Z9 and it works fantastically, so there's really no longer an issue for me, now that I've fond the right headset. (actually, there is one quirk, my phone will occasionally lock up if the screen is off and I'm not on a call and just touch the button (which engages the multi point deal on the headset), but it a minor annoyance I am very willing to deal with at this point.)

For some of the other people talking about using the Sprint ROM, though, I guess I'm just looking for some sort of straight foward "Sprint ROM on Qwest Guide". Something that doesn't require me going to many difference sources and trying to cobble together the information that I need... a simple step-by-step guide. Is there a good resource that someone could recommend. I really want to make the new ROM happen, especially if it is working well for some people.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Another Qwest user here very angry at how I am being treated by Qwest. I bought this phone mainly because a salesman told me of all the things it could do. Well... I guess it could maybe do those things if it actually worked correctly. My bluetooth locks up the phone and I have to remove the battery to unlock etc., etc. The bluetooth problem is the most frustrating for me as I think bluetooth functionality is a very integral component to have working.

I too have been asking why getting this ROM over to a Qwest phone is so difficult and Qwest seems to know nothing about it. HTC keeps telling me to contact Qwest. My brother used to work for Qwest and he said that the problem for Qwest is that Sprint was not working with them very well or sharing phones and information like Qwest expected. It seemed to him that Sprint would only allow Qwest to sell phones after Sprint was ready to move on to something bigger and better.

Nuf said bout that, I just wanted to voice my same frustrations that from what I have read, it seem the rest of you are feeling also.

I guess it really doesn’t matter who is causing the problem. Us Qwest customers are just looking for a way to fix our expensive phones. I too am looking for a way to make this phone work and any help or instructions on possible solutions is and will be greatly appreciated. I am willing to spend the time and take the chances to make this work but I don’t have great knowledge or experience as far as upgrading this phone. I would definitely also need some instruction from one of the experts out there.

I am really glad to see that there are some other Qwest customers here. Most of forums I read seem to be fairly void of Qwest users. Maybe that is because Qwest has never taken good care of those of us wanting a PDA on their network so most people wanting a PDA went elsewhere. I have left a couple of posts on this forum when the Sprint ROM first came out and I either heard that it is impossible or nothing at all so I am glad that maybe someone here may actually some answers.

While I share in some of your frustration, I wanted to point out that I also have an issue with the Bluetooth locking up on occasion, however, it's just a matter of hitting the soft reset button on the bottom, not completely opening the case and removing the battery for me. It doesn't make the problem ok, but it's a little more bearable.

I also think I'm starting to understand what causes it to lock up when using the Bluetooth, hitting certain buttons at certain times. As soon as I understand the issue better.... I might post what's working. So far, I seem to be able to go days at a time without having a single lock up.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

My bluetooth never paired with anything from the day I got it, but I really didn't need it so I kept the phone. Then I bought a Ford Edge with Sync and NEED bluetooth. Qwest sent me a new phone right away (not refurb) and the bluetooth with Sync works great .... but I can't use data and they can't figure out why.

We ran IOTA about 50 times and then I told them at the tier 2 level that the username of the phone was showing a hex ESN and @hcm.sprintpcs.com. Then they said they would send me another one. Seems like something they could reprogram. Now I'm waiting for another phone.

On a side note, while I was booting up the phone from a hard reset, I asked the tier 2 guy what his thoughts were on the Sprint/Qwest contract comming up on the end in Spring 2009. He said he's rooting for Sprint or ATT, otherwise he'd loose his job. Verizon will take care of their own phone support. So, all might be new in 2009!

Maybe Qwest will buy Sprint. QWINT.:evil4:

I have a Qwest Mogul and I as all here am very disappointed with the crappy Qwest support and updates. I am new to the hacking part of my Mogul. I do understand for the most part but I am not sure what DCD's ROM means. I want to unlock my GPS function so I too can run the TomTom software. What actually works. I have read several posts from Bunvilla that he directs us to read his previous posts on how to do it. I have searched to no avail. How about some help for us green ppl to the hacking side of the house. Thanks all for ALL the hacking efforts.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Another Qwest/Mogul user here...

Just wanted to share my experience with upgrading...

Started with the standard Qwest 2.13 ROM (didn't write down all the details ... didn't think I'd need them).

1) Used ##778# to grab EPST info (did not have the MSL, so I didn't get my passwords :( )
2) Unlocked bootloader with Olipro 2.4
3) Installed the Sprint 3.35 ROM
4) Stupidly allowed it to complete its customizations (I think it resulted in the wiping of my extrom info ... which included the iota/internet/data info that I needed and didn't record)
5) Installed DCD Qwest_3.01 ROM

After #5, everything but the internet worked great (Google maps worked ... using WiFi ... sent/received phone calls & text/SMS).

Thinking I had nothing to lose, I went back to step #3 and reinstalled the Sprint_3.35 ROM (must say that I really do prefer the application set that Sprint offers over Qwest). With just the Sprint ROM installed, everything but the internet worked perfectly (again, GPS worked with WiFi ... send/receive calls and SMS worked).

I even called Qwest and asked if they could reset my account to see if that would help. They claimed they did, but I was still fiddling with my settings, so I may have negated whatever they did.

I then tried to downgrade back to Qwest 2.13 and have observed the following:

Relocking Bootloader w/ Titan_Relocker:
- BootLoader/SPL: Titan 1.06 (Titan_Relocker)
- Radio: 3.35
- ROM: Sprint 3.35
- Result: Mogul would 'reboot' a few seconds after loading up

- Trying to downgrade via an old Sprint ROM (ie: 2.17) results in an RUU error (Invalid Vendor ID).

Keeping the Unlocked BootLoader:
- BootLoader/SPL: Olipro 2.40
- Radio: 3.35
- ROM: Qwest 2.13 (used the 'signed' ROM provided by Bunvilla (sp?) )
- Result: Mogul would freeze at the black 'HTC' logo screen

Also tried downgrading the radio ROM while still using the Olipro 2.40 bootloader:
- Result: Received an RUU error '328' (Invalid Command)
(Same error when trying to downgrade to previous Sprint ROMs- ie: 2.17)

So, as it stands, I currently have a Qwest/Mogul phone running the following:
- BootLoader/SPL: Olipro 2.40
- Radio: 3.35 (from Sprint 3.35 ROM ... also known as Special_4350.nbh)
- ROM: Sprint 3.35

I can send/receive calls and text and even do some GPS tracking via WiFi ... but I have NO internet/data service.

I need to either:

A) Get internet/data working under either the Sprint 3.35 or DCD_Qwest_3.01 ROM, or
B) Downgrade the phone back to Qwest 2.13 (and either 1.39/1.40/1.47 radio ROM) with a locked bootloader (Titan 1.06 ?)

If anyone has any thoughts, feel free to post/email them (I'm willing to try just about anything).

-kiawud@gmail.com

P.S.: On a few occasions, I've gotten the phone stuck at the bootloader (3 colored stripes) and found out you can use 'mtty.exe' to unfreeze the phone.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

It sounds like you need to run the IOTA. I thought you could unlock the ext. ROM to find IOTA or there is a cab you can search for.

I'm guessing cause I'm a chicken to upgrade, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night ... no, really, I just had a problem with my phone where I could do everything but get on the internet.

I had a bluetooth problem, so Qwest sent a warranty phone. The new phone had no bluetooth problem, but I couldn't get onto the internet. They made me hard reset 3 times and run IOTA 87 times. They did some back-end stuff for 3 days ... then sent me another phone.

If you call them and tell them your internet isn't working, they will sometimes try to fix it by going into ##778# and then you can write down your MSL. And they may fix your internet problem.

At least you did it! Exciting!=D>

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Update:
=====

I got everything working. I was able to downgrade the phone back to Qwest 2.13 w/ 1.47 radio (had to use the microSD method to downgrade the radio). Once there, the internet started working. Grabbed the missing EPST info (ie: my HA Shared Secret and AA Shared Secret for my M.IP profile). And then was able to upgrade completely to DCD Qwest 3.0.1 via:

1) Grab EPST info (all of it ... needed to use MSL)
2) Installed Olipro 2.40
3) Installed Sprint 3.35 ROM (DID NOT ALLOW CUSTOMIZATIONS!!!!!)
4) Installed DCD Qwest 3.0.1

Everything is working now (GPS, Internet/Data, Send/Receive phone calls and text, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.)

If this ordeal helps anyone else, then it was worth it :)

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Latest Summary:

I am currently running the Sprint 3.35 ROM on a Qwest issued Mogul and, so far, everything is working (Internet/Data, GPS, Phone, Text/SMS, Email, Bluetooth, etc.).

For those interested, here's how I did it:

Upgrading from Qwest 2.13 --> Sprint 3.35:
===========================
Info/files needed:
--------------------
- MSL/sublock code for existing Qwest 2.13 phone (call Qwest)
- GetSPC.exe ('MSL Generator.zip')
- Olipro 2.40 bootloader ('Hard-SPL-MFG.exe')
- Sprint 3.35 ROM ('RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04 _4350H_SPCS_AM_Ship.exe')
- DCD's Qwest 3.01 (optional - 'DCD_3.0.1_Qwest.exe')

Most of these files can be found in this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17667

Method:
---------
- Step 1) Call Qwest and get the MSL (aka 'sublock code') for the EPST.
- Step 2) Dial "##778#", select 'Edit' and use the 6-digit MSL code.
- Step 3) Copy ALL the info from all pages/tabs of the EPST*
- Step 4) Install Olipro 2.40 (via 'Hard-SPL.exe')
- Step 5) Install Sprint 3.35 ROM (via the Sprint 3.35 ROM from their site)
- Step 6) Allow phone to customize under Sprint**
- Step 7) Use "GetSPC.exe" to obtain new MSL code
- Step 8 ) Dial "##778#" and new MSL code to manually edit the EPST settings (pay particular attention to the "M.IP Customer Profile 1" and the HA/AAA passwords)

*Not all the EPST info is nec., but it's nice to have it any way. What are really important are: MSID, MDN, and the NAI, HA/AAA Addresses and Passwords from the "M.IP Customer Profile 1" tab ... FYI: The passwords only show up in the 'Edit' mode of EPST.

**When/if the phone is customized via the Sprint ROM, it will corrupt some of the EPST settings. Despite this, the phone should still send/receive phone calls and text messages. To enable internet/data (which is what the IOTA would normally do), we have to manually modify the EPST settings in Step 8.

Using DCD's Qwest 3.01 ROM:
===================

Of course, you can avoid a lot of hardache/anxiety by simply skipping Steps 6 - 8 and installing DCD's Qwest 3.01 ROM immediately after installing Sprint's 3.35 ROM (if you go this route, DO NOT LET THE PHONE CUSTOMIZE AFTER THE SPRINT ROM INSTALLATION). Doing so should result in a fully functional phone (working internet, phone, gps, etc.) that does not require much, if any, EPST modifications.

For those curious, DCD's ROM has some interesting features, such as:
- It's relatively bare (so it doesn't include a lot of the 'fluff' you find in the corporate releases ... such as 'trial ware')
- It's Windows Mobile 6.1 (I believe Sprint's 3.35 ROM is still just 6.0)
- It has a different dialer which seems to have bigger buttons and simpler interface
- It can group text/email messages by thread giving texting a sort of 'IM' feel by showing all the related messages at once

In any case, I hope this helps any fellow Qwesters out there who are tired of waiting for Qwest to catch up to Sprint. I'll continue to play around with the Sprint installation and post if I have any problems or issues, but so far, I must say it's great having a working Bluetooth and GPS capability ;)

Feel free to email/pm me if there is anything I can do to help :)

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

That sounds great. I think I amy try and tackle upgrading mine this weekend when I have some time incase I mess it up. Thank you for all the information on your experience.

you guys need to stay away from doing anything with that "Special_4350.nbh" file...its leaving phones bricked in certain situations. read ImCokeMan's signature line; he's got a bricked Mogul to prove it.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

Incredibly well written Post Kiawud!

Where were you when i started my upgrade a month ago? :)

I have had a long and arduous effort trying to make this upgrade, but i am very glad that i did.
i intended to write an upgrade post as well since there is so little Qwest specific upgrade info out there, but i still haven't got my mogul working 100% (plus you beat me to it...swEEt!)

I did the same as you. i let the sprint customizations run in the 3.35 upgrade which hosed my data, but i had my MSL and still couldn't edit my epst.

i am wondering if i could have called qwest and got everything working without the downgrade, but i was worried they might catch that i had upgraded, so...

i finally got my downgrade to work. ( i used the SD method, left Olipro 2.40 in place, loaded my 2.13 rom, then loaded the 1.40 radio you gave me a copy of.
my radio install failed and my phone started continually rebooting after a few seconds of trying to start booting and no amount of reloading the 2.13 radio or 1.40 or 1.47 radio would get it out of this reboot scenario.

i finally unpacked all the files from the sprint 3.35 rom into my SD card and renamed the sprint .nbh file to TITAIMG.nbh and ignored the special_4350.nbh file.

i had to pull my battery a couple of time for about 20 seconds because the phone did not want to see the image file or load it from the SD card. finally it began to load and i was able to get the 3.35 rom installed into the phone.

From here i did not let the customizations run, but simply loaded the 2.13 rom and then the 1.40 radio again. each time i pulled my battery for 20 seconds and they both finally loaded.

I still had no data or the ability to edit my epst settings, so i called Qwest who had me dial ##970697# which allowed me to edit the msid and mdn #'s.

this got my phone working and my data working as well.

i did not check to see if my wifi worked, but assumed that it did.

i then reloaded 3.35 using the activesync connection and the sprint .exe file, skipped the "tapping of the screen to setup" after it booted the 1st time and went straight to DCD 3.0.1
this time everything went perfect, except i still have no wifi.

turning on the button and/or enabling wifi from the comm manager do nothing.

once i solve this problem, i should be in the same boat as you and be able to assist others getting their mogul's running the way they should and not the feature and stability limited way qwest is allowing them to remain.

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

From what I understand, the 'Special_4350.nbh' file is installed as part of the Sprint 3.35 ROM Upgrade. The whole upgrade updates the radio to 3.35 as well as the operating ROM/firmware.

Once installed, the 3.35 radio rom it is very difficult to remove (ie: if you wish to downgrade back to a 1.x radio rom, you have to use the microSD/TITAIMG.nbh method). So, if you want to avoid installing it, don't use the Sprint 3.35 ROM (grab a titan_radio_3.35.nbh instead and use a custom ROM such as DCD's Qwest 3.01 ROM ... although I'm not sure if the titan_radio_3.35.nbh is any less resistant to downgrading).

Additionally, I understand that the Sprint 3.35 ROM is a complete upgrade and, normally, also touches the bootloader (perhaps that's another aspect of the 'Special_4350.nbh' file). However, I read that Olipro 2.40 is able to resist the bootloader changes that the Sprint 3.35 ROM attempts to make.

Personally, I have used the Sprint 3.35 ROM to upgrade several times on three separate phones (all running Olipro 2.40 first) without any significant issues (the worst being a phone stuck in bootloader mode ... just had to use the 'exit_bootloader.exe' program or 'mtty.exe' to reset the phone).

However, everyone's experience will vary and you should go with what you are comfortable with (there's a good chance I just had a case of extreme dumb luck).

HTH,

Re: Qwest + Mogul = No Update Ever?

chirodj5:

I had the same reboot problem when I downgraded to Qwest 2.13. I didn't try relocking the bootloader but I did do a hard reset which seemed to help a bit (at least long enough to grab the HA/AAA passwords I missed the first time around).

As I mentioned before, I'm currently running the stock Sprint 3.35 ROM and, after manually modifying the "M.IP Customer Profile 1" settings, I have everything working (GPS, Internet/Data, WiFi, calls, text, bluetooth, etc.).

Hopefully things will work out for you and you're phone will stabilize at some point. If I can help in any way, let me know.

-kiawud

P.S.: You might want to try and get the Qwest_extrom.nbh file and see if it helps with the rebooting problem (perhaps there is something in the extrom that is disrupting the Qwest 2.13 ROM).
