Wow, you're quick. I just changed it. The FTP is now an anonymous FTP, and thus no name and password are required! Hope everyone likes the change.

EDIT: Looks like it will since anonymous is read only access. Let me know if it will be a pay for access system going forward for write access.

Yep, fixes the problem of people deleting stuff! :D

And as far as I know, there are no plans of making this a pay for access system. Right now, everyone can write to it as well. Basically, all is exactly the same as before, except you can't delete or rename files and no password is needed to access the FTP.
