Upgraded phone now it thinks it is roaming

I upgrade my rom to dcd’s 2.2.6 and radio 2.27 and it all went fine and the phones worked as it should expect the phone wouldn’t always wake up when the power button was pushed, trying to fix this I then flashed the unofficial Sprint roam, my phone now thinks it is roaming ( I live outside the states). When using the phone I also see that the phone indicates International instead of our local provider.

Any ideas on how to tell the phone it is not roaming, I have copied the epst from a good phone over to my phone but that hasn't worked and relashed with dcd’s rom and radio but no joy.

It appears that the loading of the unofficial Roam caused this problem, not dcd's rom

Mine does this too. I forced mine to Sprint only. It takes a few seconds after resetting to aquire signal. Not sure why

Try doing a hard reset...if not try reverting back to the stock rom. I am having issues with roaming as well...if my phone is roaming, it can not be authenticated blah blah blah and it disconnects me.

Re: Upgraded phone now it thinks it is roaming

set it to be forced to your carrier only. Then you can go back in and turn roaming back on and it will generally connect right to your carrier, it just takes a minute for the radio sometimes.

Re: Upgraded phone now it thinks it is roaming

Thanks for the suggestions.
I tried putting the phone into Home Only mode but even there is still indicated it was roaming. It is almost like the phone expects to be in the USA and if it isn't it roams.

Any other ideas guy's ?

Check your PRL... make sure its not a Sprint PRL.

Re: Upgraded phone now it thinks it is roaming

It is the sprint PRL, but I thought the PRL was only used when roaming not to tell the phone it's home location and when to roam.

Sounds to me like your phone thinks it's on Sprint, but your carrier is not Sprint...correct?

Did you check your MSID and MDN?

Re: Upgraded phone now it thinks it is roaming

Thanks all, I found that all I need to do was down load a new PRL file from Telecom (over the phone). So this can help other people it appears that the PRL also tells the phoen which provider is their normal provider and when to roam and not only whcih provider to use if roaming.

One other thing I also had here was that my data wouldn't work when I was using the incorrect PRL.

To downlaod a PRL in NZ dail *22800
