Not to question this post but from past experience.... I'll believe it when I see it.

Ethereal, that is correct. i have had no problems with the radio or the GPS running DCD's 2.2.1 / 2.2.2 / and now 2.2.3

I think I'm going to install DCD's Verizon ROM on my phone tonight as a test...

It's sad that we have to depend on unofficial ROM OS builds to have the most current functionality with our PPC's, and even if Sprint did include there new WM 6.1 build in the promised ROM upgrade it wouldn't mean a hill of beans to me, because I have tested 6.1 and in my opinion the only feature I would like permanantly is the threaded SMS. Thats it. 6.1 is nothing to rave about, and Sprint should include it just to get it out the way and focus on WM 7.0 which is already in advance stages of developement. Why make us wait for this weak program?

I’ve not had one single disconnect issue. I’ve been running the radio since it came out. The first beta of ROMS were buggy but I’ve been running my own ROM based off from DCD 2.2.0 and the dog guy kitchen and I this thing rocks. It’s pretty clean as far as programs, just my essentials. Before that it was Dizzle 1.2 and that was fast and stable. I couldn’t be happier with this phone the way it is right now.

I have read in other posts here that 6.1 offers improved memory management, making the Titan's limited program memory less of a problem. Do you agree or disagree with that assessment?

Thanks,

Although I'd say the memory leak hasn't improved any, I would say that the OS doesn't slow to a crawl anywhere near as badly as it did with 6.0 when the RAM is low. More importantly, though, the phone in general is just drastically faster and more responsive. It's like a new phone to me. I'm not sure why some people feel 6.1 isn't offering much, because to me, more than the built-in threaded SMS (which is also really nice), it's this performance issue that sells it for me.

I just hope it offers drivers for the graphics chip that is in our phone. Don't get me wrong, I know it won't, and neither will the next few roms (if at all), but I can always hope....

I really couldn't tell you as to the impact the OS had on the device's functionality, though the Titan lacks in available memory because I don't run that many aps on my device. I try to keep at least a minimum of 23 MBs at all times so 6.1's impact on that issue really wasn't that noticeable to me.
