X, I fixed the registry on my computer then rebooted. Ran HARD-SPL, worked. Ran DcD's and that loaded as well. Did the soft reboot, now the phone is frozen at the Alltel load screen. I'm going to start over and try it with no2chems and see if that works.

Well. The phone still freezes just after the boot screen at the alltel one. I have tried a hard reset, soft reset does not work, I pulled the battery, still hangs up at alltel screen. I searched the forums and cant seem to find a solution. Any ideas?

Found a solution. This is needs to be done once you load the DcD rom 2.3. Your phone will freeze at the splash scree. Follow the steps below to get the boot loader screen back up. Your computer will then see your phone. DONT RUN HARD-SPL... Run the RRU radio instead. Windows mobile should start right up after the auto soft reset.

Steps For Install:
1. put phone in boot loader mode can do so by holding in power button and camera button at the same time while pressing in soft rest button
2. run the unlocker and follow the on screen instructions
3. then flash phone with rom of your choice, phone will reboot and be stuck at splash screen put phone back into boot loader mode
4. then run the radio upgrade and follow on screen instructions and you should be all set

Phone now shows radio 3.27 rom 3.16 but... thats not the end of it. You need to hit ##778, enter the Alltel default msl code of 000000 and re enter your MSID which is your 10 digit phone number.

I posted earlier that everything worked fine but I did need to re-enter my HDR AN AUTH Pass. It was different after flashing than the original and in order to connect to EVDO instead of 1X I had to put the old value back in. Now I hold an EVDO connection with great speeds.

Another issue, I could not connect to the internet and was locked in roaming. I had to enter ##000000 and re enter my MDN and Home SID then got back up on the internet. Alltel has released PRL 30031 a few days ago so I'll hopefully get that up an running as *228 cant load it. Anyone find a solution for that PRL issue yet?

Can you link GoSplats and what you did to load it? I'm interested in trying it.

I don't know where Gnat's rom went to but I have it in my folder in the ftp along with the other files you need as well: ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....Users/fly2279/

Here are the steps I used:

1. Write down all the phone settings, access them by dialing ##778
2. Install the bootloader, Hard-SPL-MFG.exe (read carefully, especially when it says to disable activesync)
3. Install the radio, titan_radio_3.27.00.exe
4. Flash the new ROM (I used the sd card method)
5. Update PRL, *228 and press 3 the first time to activate, do it again and press 2 to update the PRL.
6. Update phone info:
  1. Enter EPST (##778, Edit (password= 000000).
  2. View Info (left soft key).
  3. Choose the "Security" item.
  4. In the "HDR AN AUTH Password(LONG)" field, click to highlight.
  5. Menu (right soft key), Edit
  6. In the "Value" field, enter your Hex ESN (make sure all characters are CAPITAL, lowercase will FAIL).
  7. Ok. Menu. Ok to save, then reset.
SD card method:

Format a microSD card with FAT 32 (required most are fat16 default) and copy the file TITAIMG.nbh to the root of the sd card(the main page, not inside ANY folders) with a card reader.

Finally place sdcard in device and reset into bootloader mode (HOLD POWER, CAMERA AND HIT RESET AT SAME TIME). The flash will proceed from the SD card and it should work fine.

For everyone having trouble with MMS after the new roms here is your fix. This is a different version of arcsoft that since i installed it last night it has worked perfectly for MMS. Im running DCD 2.2.1 Alltel Rom and now that MMS is working I am totally satisfied.

Instructions. Unzip and install cab. It will automatically overright the arcsoft you have and install the correct server setttings. Now MMS away.

(PS I am not responsible for this fix, i just happened to find it on XDA-Developers)

I am curious as to why you had to re-enter your MDN & SID. The only thing I have entered into my phone post-rom installation was PRL's.

I have used only 30029 & 40029 and 30029 seems to suit best. I have not seen 30031 yet. HowardForums has some information regarding release but I cant locate a actual 30031 file yet.

Also, if you are flashing your device and get a locked screen, you can press the power & camera button and then reset button to bring the phone back to bootloader screen. Just make sure you have Olipro's 2.40...
