If you are on Verizon then you are having the same problem I had. Get a file explorer that lets you view all hidden and protected files (I use Total Commander) and go into the Windows dir on your phone and open EPST.lnk. For some reason EPST.exe doesn't actually launch the program but the .lnk file does.

I'm on Alltel...I guess HomePlugin did have custom dialer. Removed the plugin and it worked. Followed the steps, and am stuck on the Alltel splash screen. I tried to install the radio but no dice. Everything went fine just like the guide said up to step six. I installed the dcd2.2.6 ROM and it rebooted and stays on the screen mentioned above.

Hi there. Searched everywhere in the forums for help on this one and cant find a solution. So this thread seems like the best place to find help.
I followed the instructions at the start of this thread using a dcd 2.17 rom on VZW. I relocked, flushed the unofficial Sprint ROM 3.16. I got it all installed just fine. Radio 3.27, Rom 3.16.
As I said, I am on VZW, so I went and got a couple of VZW custom Roms to try out. I used one of Colonels and a couple of DCDs. But I always have the same problem. I am stuck on Sprint PCS as my carrier and I cant use the phone at all. No data, No phone service. I tried to reactivate the phone (on VZW) as per *228, but just get a sprint message telling me the phone is not registered/activated on Sprint PCS.
Ant help much appreciated. Next step if I cant find help here is to relock and flash a 2.09 VZW stock rom (with the old radio).
Anyone know where I can get one?

Ok. They got me. I have been trying since last night to load the new ROM using this procedure. I have searched and tried several times. I can't get past the first step, though.

- I connect the Titan to my Vista PC and it syncs.

- Then I run the 3.16

- It acts like it wants to run and goes through all the warning screens then goes into the multi color on the device, but not the gray screen with the status bar.

- Then after about a minute or so, the pc window says error lost connection.

Any help would be appreciated. Believe me, I already feel stupid so go ahead and humiliate me. I deserve it.

moved the files to an xp pc on the network and everything installed fine

Thanks for the great guide. I've looked around on here and the other form and I'm a little confused and wanted to make sure. Going from 3.17 to 3.27 the correct path would be. This is using dcd's rom.

1)Run Hard-SPL-MFG
2)Update to newest ROM file
3)Then run the Radio update

I would like to know because at the top dcd's ROM post reads "If you have an older radio installed, your device will not boot after flashing this rom. You must enter bootloader using power+camera+reset and flash radio 3.27.00."

While another post reads what I wrote above.

OK i have a question as well... my HTC MOGUL has been upgraded to the HTC Cube with touchflow and the xbutton it is NOW slow as heck? What do i do to get this thing cooking again, and did i install something wrong? What should i be looking out for? Thanks for the help!
WILL a hard reset possibly fix this problem?

Welcome!
Just run the guide as described then install the custom rom of your choice.
The benefit about going this route, you don't have to worry about installing
the radio seperately.

I personally don't use the x-button. I didn't like it and it seemed very buggy (just my opinion).
I use the 'magic button'. It's clean, easy to use and so far I have had zero issues with
it.

A hard reset blows everything away -- just as your system was when the rom was first
loaded. So, in short, 'yes' a hard reset will fix the problem because the added software
will no longer be there.

Help I can't get reflashed on the DCD ROM or even to the 3.16

Did you have to do anything out of line with the steps on page one. I am a total newbie at flashin roms however preety technically saavy. I attempted to follow the steps but kept getting an invalid vendor id when trying to do the Sprint rom that would later be flushed to replace with DCD's. I am on verizon using a ppc 6800 and a PC with XP via active sync. I tried Unlocking, relocking and attempting again with the spring 3.16 but i get to 11% and then boom error. Please help me if you can or anyone can i need my phone back its my only form of communication other than my computer.

How did ya'll get this resolved, please help I am in the same boat with my XV6800 on verizon using PC XP via active sync and usb.
