Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

I was hoping somebidy could help me out. When i get to the rom update utility it takes me to the progress screen, however it stays at 0% and then i get an error 262 and says that there was a connection error. I run the error fix through the updater and try again but still the same error. It seems like something simple but i am new to this. any suggestions? it is appreciated.

Try the following:
1. Back Up all important data!!!!!!
2. Uninstall Active Sync and then restart your computer.
3. Hard Reset your phone.
4. Take out phone battery for 10-15 minutes.
5. Re-install activesync.
6. Re-sync phone and try the update again.

A 262 error basically means that there is a issue between your phone and the update program.

Here is one solution....

This soft is great (PCMkeyboard), BUT is incompatible with some SPB products
(Diary, PocketPlus).
1. install keyboard
2. do soft reset
3. Start->Settings->Today... and here disable SPB (for ex. PocketPlus)
4. tap keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen
5. select PCMkeyboard by small arrow as SIP method
6. after very short time PCMk may show as SIP, but sometimes dissapears
after one/two seconds ... in this case repeat step 5 (I have to do
it 2 times in row)
7. when PCMk SIP is stable on the bottom of the screen, reenable
SPB Today plugin
8. use your PDA with PCMk until next soft-reset :-)

I hope that developers of PCMk and SPB will be able to solve this bug (BUG). Because both of their products are TOP, but each without other.

and another....

1. remove PCM Keyboard
2. install on the Storage Card
3. verify it works
4. remove PCM keyboard
5. install in main memory
6. verify it works
7. Disable XT9: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\ and change the key "XT9SupportMSSip" from value "1" to "0"

The first method worked for me. I am using SPB Weather on the Today screen. I disabled all Today plugins, reinstalled PocketCM Keyboard and was able to make it the default SIP with SIP changer. Following a reboot, I turned all the Today plugins back on and it stuck. SPB Backup even kept the setting in the save file.

Hope this helps.... solutions were taken from the Pocket CM forums.

I don't use any of the SPB products, and tried the 2nd procedure too...just wondering if its a pagepool problem like last time in build uh, 5048 or something like that. Thanks!!

Does it not install? or does it install, but revert to the default keyboard when selected?

If it's the second one, then you might want to take a look at SIP Change, a program that automatically selects a desired SIP upon boot.

It works great for me using the HTC Intellipad SIP.

yes i have been, but as i mentioned in a previous post, i've been busy lately and there are several architectual changes in the new build including the use of a new tool. I planned to release the tool yesterday, but was a little sidetracked. You can expect 5061 on friday, most likely.

also, ... if you've been trying to message me, please pm me on irc or send me an e-mail, my pm box is full.
