Nobody else bummed that there is no "smart dialer"? Also, the Contacts soft button is missing from the dialer.

No2Chem,

In 5054, the dialer contained a different smart dialer. It still used the default dialer skin, but had (in my opinion) a very nice smart dialer. I notice in 5055, there is no smart dialer at all; not even the default smart dialer. I use this feature a lot, where could I find the one you had in 5054?

I'm in the same boat as you... loved this version of the 'default dialer... it was brilliant... are you saying this is completely gone in 55? the integrated contact/call history list was PERFECT.

was this the dialer that everyone was complaining about!!!???? ](*,)

Well, I think most people were complaining about the initial dialer he put in; the one with the touch theme. That one was kind of bloated and slow. It also had some interface issues, as well as the constant EVDO arrow problem. In 5054 he removed the touch theme, but it still had that nice smart dialer; the one with the "integrated contact/call history list", and yes, that thing was awesome. Ever since I switched to a Windows device from Palm, I've always missed that quick dialer that shows your recent dialed calls, but didn't show the same number more than once. This 5054 dialer was damn near perfect! The only thing it still suffered from was the EVDO arrow problem. I think that's why he decided to remove it completely. I think I might switch back to 5054 just for that dialer though. I can live with the EVDO data arrow issue, but can't live without a smart dialer. I have way too many business contacts that I dialer frequently using the smart dialer.

This wasn't the dialer people were complaining about, and I'm disappointed to hear it was removed, as well. I really liked it for the one day I got to use it. I'd definitely like to see that return. I guess we may have to hold out for the basekits to be able to use that. But if there is a CAB for it or something I'd happily use it.

Oh, no kidding. No smart dialing is here at all. Would installing a new dialer work? Does anyone have the default skin with the default smart dialing in a cab you could point my way?

About 18mb on boot w/HTC Task mgr and HTC Home.

This was my *first* time using UC and it worked great. Still working on getting the xml settings in place as it didn't work, but all my cabs installed! Fantastic!

Also, noticed all the ringtones are back. I guess I don't mind that although I don't use them.

i dont want the default dialer/ default smart dialing... i want/need the version that n2c had been using... can you help with this by posting a cab n2c?

Very glad about the UC success friend... here's a tip, put the xml's as your first group if you've got everything else how you want it...it will save you while troubleshooting your syntax, and imo the UC runs faster when they are ordered first.

Edit: just to be clear this is the dialer in question... w/ integrated contact/call history. where can it be found?
