I noticed on this one Livesearch works great! I had issues with your previous rom. Also, I am just curious if you are able to add the flash feature back to the camera, (i know the touch doesnt have a flash, which you pulled the app from)

At first glance, it seems VERY snappy. Reponds well everywhere, even in the dialer. I will test bluetooth and some other stuff, but again, and as always.. THANKS!!!

there might be a setting somewhere to enable it., but im not sure. I might (sadly) have to put the titan camera back.

Yes, that is the one I am using right now.

So far, I have only found two issues, which one was already known. Other than that..very quick.

1. The camera has no flash feature. (I have looked around, coudlnt find anything)
2. Ringtones are corrupt, copying files over from official rom produces same error:
"This ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable..."

Corrupt ringtones? What do you do to get that message?...

dishe 11-19-2007 02:34 AM

do u guys use the flash for actually illuminating a picture to be taken (not so useful I think), or as a flashlight (like I do)?

If you just need it to turn on to use for light, you can use VJcandella, or Nilisco's flashlight app (found on XDA). Its great because you can assign it to a button and press it for light instead of digging through camera menus.

If you actually use it for picture taking, than I can't help you. But so far I like the camer app.

in phone options and right tone.. try to play any of the ring tones.. ive flashed twice and its not working..

EDIT: alright..I think its cause I used it in a kitchen.. Just like before I had issues with Livesearch not working. I will try flashing again just the rom, test stuff, then try it in a kitchen again.

I tried most of them and they seem to work... which ringtone doesn't work? all of them? "ring" and die zamberflute work anyway.... actually they all do?

Good morning people! No2chem...you're awesome for getting these ROMs fixed so quick. Believe me, this is the best work I've seen!! :)

I'll go to work and try it there during my free time and post results.

I haven't been able to take care of your request yet because the new smartdialer is interfering with the default dialer. I'll get to it with due time, trust me.

aughsum 11-19-2007 09:48 AM

everything sounds good, ill be flashing when I get home tonight.. touchflo is working.. sprinttv is (was) working.. all we need is the rev/a/gps update and it sounds like we might have an actual working phone...

if this doesn't workout for me ill be going back to wm5.

rvashi 11-19-2007 09:55 AM

Oookay. Just got around to havin' some free time...but no ROM?? No2chem, did you take it off for some reason??

And about the dialer, I really appreciate it!! Take your time, I know you're putting in a lot of time and effort into these ROMs.

EDIT: I think you might have been uploading the ROMs right now but I see the latest one. Flashing it now...its dated the 19th.

I don't use the Flash feature as a flash light for the most part. It is usually just used for picture taking (as worthless as it is...sometimes it helps). That is why, I think we may have to go back to the Titan camera. I have not really messed with the Vogue camera, but are there other features in there that we're missing?

steps 11-19-2007 03:54 PM

I'm still having trouble aligning the screen manually! I love the ROM tho!! FANTASTIC JOB!

phuangk 11-19-2007 04:10 PM

The new HTC Touch Camera software has some issue with HTC Album. With the previous version of HTC Camera software, I was able to turn/slide/zoom the picture. However, the newer camera software won't allow me to do all that.. :( And I feel the older rom from No2Chem was a bit faster than this new version, and it has a little bit more free Program Memory compare with the newest rom.

rvashi 11-19-2007 04:18 PM

So results so far: After about 6 hours of use an 3 hours of Bluetooth usage (not actual usage...just bt being turned on), I've ran into absolutely NO problems!!! Bluetooth is very consistent. I am using it with my Motorola H700 headset and as soon as I flip open the mic, headset is on and recognzed by the Mogul. No false indication eithe of BT being on (as in previous versions where blue light would stll keep flashing but BT would be turned off).

I have not used the HTC Album yet but give me litle time and I will try to have full results on all apps. But so far, working like a charm! No memory issues here. It is slowing down a bit at times but I thnk that might be due to 'Large Start Menu' app or the 'HTC Plus!' plugin. I am still trying to test it though...so again, will try to have full results later on this evening.

I don't use HTC album so i'm not sure. It might be because of the camera, you guys are right. How much faster was the old rom... and how much more program memory did it have?

EDIT: I think the reduced program memory is because of the glyphcache hack. I'll have to look into it again.

phuangk 11-19-2007 04:56 PM

if I didn't remember wrong, the Old ROM has around 28mb free program memory to start up with. This new version has around 26mb to start up. I will say around 2mb more.
Spees wise... only a little bit slower, not a big biggie for me. I don't use bluetooth so i don't really know what exactly is going on with bluetooth problem. The only problem that really annoying me is the Chinese input program I had on my phone that cause the phone not waking up when phone went to sleep mode.. (My 6700 has no problem with the chinese program). I wonder what could cause this problem...

AstronusX 11-19-2007 06:17 PM

Is both bluetooth and alarm fixed in this rom ?

Does the chinese input problem only occur on this rom?

I haven't tested the alarm. Bluetooth should be fixed.

The chinese input software problem happened on every rom I have used be4. (Included the original carrier rom from TELUS) However, I found this problem getting worse when i start using your Oct 21 rom. I don't think it has anything to do with your rom anyway since it happened on every single rom i had on HTC 6800. However, if i have my phone on all the time (not let the phone went into power off mode) then there will be no problem at all, but as long as it went to the power off mode, then I won't be able to wake up the phone, needs to do a soft reset on it.. somewhat similer to the bluetooth problem??

EDIT!!: OOPS!! Oct21 rom is colonols rom.. not yours.. been flash too many of the roms, can't remember which one is which now.. :P

learn to read. everything is listed on the front page. and i won't tolerate bashing other rom cooks. people spend a lot of time doing this stuff, and releasing their stuff to the public is a lot of work too. They're doing a service for you, the least you can do is thank them. If their rom is not for you then just MOVE ON. I'm sorry, our time isn't worth making every "I want my phone to look like an iphone and have xxx and yyy and zzz application in your rom, and your rom sucks because it doesn't have kewl graphix etc" happy.

You should have better sense than to bash someone else's hard work. The fact that someone's custom ROM does not have X program should not be a factor on whether you should install it or not. That's not the point. Seriously, what's so hard about grabbing the threaded sms and installing it yourself?

Your post reads like a spoiled little brat who whines because you didn't get what you wanted. You have to understand the impetus behind this recent influx of ROMs was to fix what HTC/Sprint could not do - which was to have a stable WM6OS with proper drivers for BT and alarm issues.

If you want a build-to-order kitchen, I suggest you start reading DogGuy's thread on kitchens, then you can build your own. Teach a man to fish ... yada yada

Okay...no2chem, relax for a second... It doesn't suit you to be going off like this... Just focus on your work and ignore people like these or comments as such...such needless quarrels will get us no where. You're doing all of us such a HUGE favor and all of us appreciate it more than anything. If whatever I am saying is worth anything, than you just focus on your work...because as I said before, these are the best ROMs I've seen to date...your latest ROM fixed the DPad and Bluetooth issues which were 'unfixable' to a certain extent.

Well, as above, the bluetooth and Dpad issue has been resolved. HTC Album doens't seem to have any issues. There are two installation files for HTC Album: 1 which creates a shortcut for both Landscape and Portrait views but cannot be accessed from the Camera directly, and the other which just creates one single link which is accessible from the Camera...I recommend using that one (because it seems much more stable than the other). In addition, bluetooth has been fully functional and extremely responsive under various conditions including EVDO, 1X, and Roaming.

Below are the programs that I have installed:
JUVS HTC Album
Adobe FlashLite
Flash Player 7
A_C S2U2
HTC Plus!
HTC TrayApp
HTC Gif Animation
HTC Audio Recorder
HTC Audio Booster
duttythroy Task Manager 2.0.209..
JUVS HTC Network Plugin
JUVS HTC Enlarge Start Menu
HTC Audio Manager Today Plugin
HTC Data backup
WM6_RDP (Remote Desktop)
Rarlabs PocketRAR
Windows Live Mobile
Sprint TV
Music ID
Live Search
Sprint HomePlugin
Bluetooth Icon (tray icon)
Flash Video Bundle
TCPMP
Phatware CalliGrapher
Resco Explorer & Resgistry Add-in

yeah...lots of stuff. Upon a soft-reset: I have...
133.12MB Storage
21.77MB Program
memory remaining.

All OEM apps are working fine without any memory leak issues. If you guys would like me to post any other details or if i can think of anything else, I'll post accordingly.

What is the HTC Album version you are using right now?
I have no problem to view pictures with HTC Album, the problem I have is to use Gesture to rotate/turn/slide the pictures. The one i'm using is HTC Album 1.0 (from Helmi 6700 Kitchen)

Giving this a go now - Thanks for all of the hard work. If the BT issues are fixed that would be outstanding!

I am speechless...

My phone is damn near perfect if not there. Your work is amazing. I used your basekit in the newest buildos. Worked flawlessly.

Thanks as always!!

I am attaching the file for the version which I am using. All hand gestures work fine...kinda hard to get used to but otherwise fine. I recommend using this as it works perfectly with the Touch camera. The attached file is in zip format as I cannot attach cab files for some reason.

If I understand your question correctly, no2chem's ROM is OS Only meaning that it doesn't have a Radio ROM built in. When you flash this ROM, it will only flash your Windows Mobile OS and not the Radio which could be 1.47, 1.40, or 1.32 (1.39 if Quest).

Are you sure you flashed your phone? After you flash your call history should be wiped... unless you restored from a pim backup.

what i usually do is, before i flash my phone, i'll copy the pim file to my pc, flash the phone, then rename the new pim to pim.bak and copy the old one over.

Hi No2chem,

Thank you for the rom. It's working great so far. I was wondering if you have the camera you added to the rom in a cab file? My friend likes the camera but is unwilling to flash his phone. TIA

This ROM is fast!!! Thanks no2chem!!!

Hi No2Chem:

When I added HTC Titan Camera in my kitchen and run Buildos, when it at creating registry stage, I got "Error Building default.hv and user.hv!". Is there anyone know what is going on with this issue?
