Well i was using the alltel wm5 rom actually, i would use sampsons but i really need internet sharing and office mobile....

Well after that fiasco i tried flashing to a couple of wm6 roms and immediately realized there's no hope for wm6 on this device.....wm5 is just so much snappier

So anyway i've decided to try out the TNZ wm5 rom and this time i installed SPB backup just in case this rom decides to do the same thing as far as accidentally hard reseting....

At this point i dont' care if the thing accidentally hard resets every week,I'm going to continue to use WM5, and continue to use an SPB restore and enjoy the speeds and stability of WM5

Add another convert with me, man what a difference. The speed with the wm5 rom makes it feel like it should. The biggest thing for me was with wm6 rom I hesitated to use the sliding keyboard because it took 3 to 4 seconds to switch the screen and then another 2 to 3 for the keyboard typing to catch up. With the wm5 rom their both instant, as soon as I slide the screen I can start typing. I use the ftouchflow app and the left to right slide launches the threaded sms app with the to address to my wife . With wm5 I can slide my finger left to right, pop the keyboard out and I can type instantly. Makes the keyboard usable now. I'm using rev01 and the only issues I have so far are weird screen rendering for sliders sometimes and on one soft reset it hung and would not boot into the os even after several soft resets until I hard reset it. Overall stability has been real good though, no hangups and very fast. I think it can use some tweaking, but, may be the way to go.

,Dave

Are there any major differences between the TNZ and the Alltel Roms?

By the way, the soft reset then lose all of your data as if you hard reset is not only happening with the WM5 ROMs. I had the same thing happen with the UTCG.2.2.2 Rom once. REALLY AGGRAVATING, but at this point, i've flashed so much that i can reinstall everything in my sleep..lol.

Sorry about the rant

LOL, yeah pretty sad, i think i can re-setup exactly how i want it within 15 min now.
So after using the TNZ rom for a full day it seems to be exactly like the alltel rom except it doesn't include MMS out of the box ( i just added the ppcgeeks mms cab)
I just figured it was worth a try, but so far so good...

One thing i really don't understand is that I had an MDA for a while with T-mobile and sold it last year and for some reason even with the puny 200mhz processor on that thing, it could still run wm6 faster than our 6800's do. Just seems like the the wm6 roms for the titan are extremely inefficient...

this is very nice. kinda unfair to ask for more but feel as though the wm5torage prog is pretty much a necessity. not that u don't have enough on your plate already but was wondering if there was anyway you could maybe try to get this working.

thanks in advance

Wow, I installed Rev. 00 and had the hard reset problem right after I finished installing all my programs, now I am not sure if it's a rev 01 / 00 thing or just a WM5 problem in general as others have mentioned it happens with the regular alltel rom for them.. so now I'm trying to re-create it, but have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know of any programs that seem to be having problems with WM5?

Geez, the more i learn about the Mogul, the more i realize that a lot of its shortcomings are NOT OS related. Its just the phone itself.

MS Voice Command 1.5 has the same "no confirmation" via BT headset issue that WM6 has. For those who don't know what this is, it goes like this:

1. You press your voicedial button on your BT headset.
2. You say "Call Joe Smith"
3. MSVC says "Call Joe Smith on mobile or work?"
4. You say "mobile or cell"
5. MSVC reacts with the "cancel" sound as if it didn't hear you.

Doesn't appear to be a MS version issue, just seems to be that the mogul rides the short bus to school

Anyone else have the same experience?

Is there a fix?
