Exclamation speaker fix in EL30

is there a patch that you can download to fix the speaker phone issue that EL30 addresses. I do not need the EL30 update, just the speaker fix. Does anyone know of a location to find just that fix?

Re: speaker fix in EL30

Why is there a problem upgrading? overall though if your on gingerbread I would think you can use an EL30 based kernel and it might work.

Re: speaker fix in EL30

i have flashed custom roms in the past, and do not want the hassle of dealing with little issues of items that do not work. the stock rom works, but i have unlocked my phone and the upgrade only works on locked phones. i was really hoping to just obtain the speaker phone fix.

Yup, I would suggest trying a custom kernel, you can keep stock rom as long as the kernel is compatible. As far as voodoo...Doesn't voodoo only effect headsets?

No voodoo can increase the overall volumes of the device including the speaker.

Re: speaker fix in EL30

the fix in the EL30 was to address the feedback issue most are experiencing when using the speakerphone. now, i am ignorant here when it comes to most phone flashing, but the "kernel" and the rom are two different things? i could keep the stock rom and have a different kernel? If so, which one tends to be most reliable and widely used?

Yes kernel and rom are 2 different things, some roms come prepacked with kernels though. That said, I still need to know what exactly your using before I can offer any suggestions on the most efficient way to go about it :/

Edit: Ok, I was reading the CM9 bug list and apparently your gonna have to upgrade as the CM9 team found that its more then the kernel that is needed to fix this bug...aka you'll need to convert to an EL30 based rom and kernel :/

Re: speaker fix in EL30

is there a ROM that you would recommend that is fast, stable and offers as much eye candy as the stock rom without killing the battery?

Hmm...I first would probably suggest just starting with a rooted stock rom. This way you can gauge it. Then if you feel like you want something better we can go from there. But it is important to first experience stock.
