I can hear caller but caller can't hear me

I'm on my 3rd epic in as many weeks. The last two have identical problems. The first day it works fine. The second day, by the end of calls, I can hear caller, but caller can't hear me.

I discovered that if I turn the speakerphone on then off, they can hear me again.

It's running Froyo 2.2 ec05.

Samsung won't admit it if this is a known issue, their live chat tells me to call tech support, tech support, at last try was a 45 minute wait. Their muzak kept telling me to try online...
