Haha no worries man I'm not your kid or anything. So I just realized the order appears a bit different in gTen's than in yours, and I think that's my problem. Now I'm in DI18, but with no 2.2. Do I have to re-run Odin now?

Ok, data only. I didn't see an option for that in CRM. Did I overlook something?

Ah, I didn't go into advanced :/ Can I just do a wipe through CWM and start over?

When you go to "restore" go to "advanced restore"

No matter how much I try to mess this up, I am successfully on 2.2, rooted!

So gTen, which audio kernel do you recommend for 2.2, and how do I go about installing it?

Ah ok cool.

Yo, two 2.2 related questions. Is there anyway to change the stock messaging app back to 2.1? This new one is poop.

And...for some reason my ringtones got deleted off of my card...weird. Is that normal?

Ringtone thing is weird.
I'll post the mms thread in a few min.

Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858968

If you look through the themes & apps section you'll find several mms apps. That one is the closest to what was on 2.1.

I thought it was weird. Oh well. Thanks man.

Also, did tethering change? I read it did somewhere.

So, I used that mms thing, and I now can't open messaging :/ It force closes every time.

I have not had much luck with tethering, but I rarely need it either. No 4g where i live.

It did change, and there are nice apps for it.
