EC05 OTA is here!
 

I'm running OTA EB13 (rooted) and I just received my update to EC05 notification! Battery is running a bit low, so it isn't letting me update yet. But in an hour or so I'll update and begin some testing! More info to come! :toothy7:

I just got mine.
The trick, posted on XDA, is to go to Market and download something. Anything. A couple of minutes later the EC05 dl and install will start over EB13.

i just updated some files in the market, waited a few minutes while some where still downloading and............viola, my phone is updating to EC05 as i type this message. i was running EB13 manual update and rooted.

Ehh... I don't know what happened exactly but it was updating my phone and like froze up, so I took my battery out and started the phone up.. Checked my info and it said I was still on EB13. So I checked for updates and it said I didn't have any, so I ended up just flashing back to stock EB13, then receiving the OTA update, but then decided to just flash to Syndicate Frozen. So all in all... I guess things worked out. 8-[

did you odin the EC05 modem?

I had the same issue....phone was just frozen at the screen with the robot and box. Hit the home key and it went to the recovery screen. There it said something about it couldn't read a signature??? (was half sleep and didn't right down, lol). So I just restarted and I'm back to eb13. Wonder if I should wipe data then try?

IF EB13 works then EC05 should too..

first letter is year

D=2010
E=2011

second letter is month

A=January
B=February
C=March

and following 2 digits is the date...

so EB13 = Rom made on Feb 13 2011, EC05 = Rom made on Mar 05 2011...aka the higher the lettering/numbering the newer it is...

ok gten thanks. but does this new updat really improves anything? or everytthing stays about the same? remember iam on boost not sprint just in case. so i dont know if this thing will cause me any problems or issues.. thats why iam asking..

Well hard to say I hear Bluetooth was improved I guess..and camera improvements :/..kinda hard to say since I updated to EC05 only the other day and using a custom rom.

gTen, what rom are you using? I am interested in keeping my unlock with an EC05 Rom.

You can unlock even the stock rom....I am using right now the ACS rom..but would not suggest it ATM as it has no journaling...if you want to try a custom rom, try the midnight rom...

Ahh I got you gTen,

Just do the one-click unlock after loading the newest stock rom, it puts superuser and everything else on there for us, cool.

I am so used to the Evo, where if you do an HTC update you might loose your root forever, doesn't seem like Samsung works the same.
