Skype on 2.2

well i have 2.2 so i finallly have skype and it works great but i cant figure out how to turn on the video. does the camera automatically know that skype is on?? i couldnt find any video buttons on the skype interface. thanks

Skype does not have video on any device yet...Skype was going to add video to the Verizon Thunderbolt but delayed that at last minute...once the thunderbolt gets skype video, then we would be able to port it to other devices...

There are alternatives like Qik (owned by skype now) and oovoo..

thanks but i use this wiht my girlfreind in hungary. can she get either one of these things on her computer or are they both just for mobile

oovoo you can get on the computer..I dont know about quick..

I also hear yahoo does video on pc and phone as well...

Yahoo video is smooth and clear from my testing but has the issue of showing our FFC video in the wrong orientation. No mention of a fix for it yet.

you should try Fring
that will work with your skype account as well
just google Fring and youll get the website would post it but not sure if allowed to on here

Sure, as long as its not a site that promotes illegal stuff or some sort of advertisement...

then fring- make FREE Mobile calls, video calls &live chat to other fringsters, GTalk, AIM, Facebook, Yahoo and others.

Edit: just noticed they dont have support for skype anymore

yes, they got into a legal dispute with skype a few month back...
