Re: Official EC05 Bugs/Fixes Thread

I have EB13 on my phone from the factory. The only thing i did so far was root the phone with the "one click root + clockwork" (haven't had the balls to flash a new rom yet, seems so much more complicated than windows). I was just wondering if the fact that the phone is rooted is going to mess up my upgrade to EC05 OTA. I just got the upgrade notification on my phone last night.

Edit: Sorry, this is probably the wrong thread for this.

Re: Official EC05 Bugs/Fixes Thread

I did a bunch of searching, but did not find any answers. Has anyone come up with a fix for the notification volume issue after upgrading EC05? Rebooting solves the problem temporarily, but is there a permanent fix?

Can you be a bit more specific about your issue? the sound doesn't work?

also are you on stock or custom rom?

Re: Official EC05 Bugs/Fixes Thread

Are you guys having random black screens of death show up? Every few days, my Epic's screen goes black when I try to launch an app but the buttons on the bottom stay lit. I end up having to pull the battery.

I've seen several people post about this on another site (I have too) but havent seen it mentioned here. I've stopped using live wallpaper and even stopped overclocking (painful yes).

Your using a custom rom/kernel, if so which? some kernels for example add 100mhz step which on some phones cause deep sleep for example..

Also you can prob run a logcat on your phone and then after the crash check what caused it..

in Android Terminal type:

logcat > /mnt/sdcard/logfile.txt

if your on 2.1 for w\e reason: (which im guessing not since this is an EC05 thread, but including it just in case)

logcat > /sdcard/logfile.txt

when phone crashes, copy over the log file from your sd card to your pc..it should help you debug the problem.

Re: Official EC05 Bugs/Fixes Thread

Thanks for the tip.
I have been using the Vision Kernel 1.1 but just flashed to Syndicate (first ROM I've using which also is using Vision).
I see there is a Vision 1.2 Kernel so I'll see what happens.

yeah vision kernel has 100mhz step..on 1.2 they seemed to have implemented voltage control like genocide kernel, if you continue to have deep sleep, just remove the 100mhz step
