The Future of the Epic 4g?

*Dont know if im posting in the wrong section if i am then mod just move it*

If sprint does decide to go to LTE over 4g will the epic still work? will it just be a software update to make it work on LTE (doubted) Im thinking of getting my wife to upgrade to the epic but if in 4-6 months Sprint will go to LTE then its not worth it. Any info on this TIA.

Chances are sprint will go hybrid Wimax-LTE first..then eventually fully convert to LTE...
