Still No way to use a PC's internet Connection?

Switched back to My TP2 until I can fix my Epic. And 1 Winmo feature that still cannot be done on Android(AFAIK) is being able to connect to a PC and use it's internet connection.

I get NO signal in my office at work(up to 12 hrs a day), with the Touch Pro 2 I can plug my phone into my work PC and through Activesync use my works internet on my phone.

With my Epic I just put it in Airplane mode when in the Office because it is basically useless as far as accessing email or any other web function.

Is there an App I missed that does this? Or is it an Android limitation??

heres what Id do if your takin both devices to work already..

1. plug TP2 into work PC

2 Run WMWifiRouter USBtoWifi setting

3. Connect Epic to the Ad-hoc connection

4. Use your EPIC now with Data access

not the cleanest by any means but certainly will work for you..

Thanks! I'll have to give that a try. I didn't know wifiRouter could use your ActiveSync Connection.

WMWifiRouter has 5 Tethering Options:

3G>Wifi
3G>USB
3G>BT
Wifi>USB
USB>Wifi

This is why this app is worth the money... If you can find a signal, its almost impossible you cant connect somehow using WMWifiRouter lol

Does it matter if I select phone as Modem or Sprint in the initial WMWifirouter setup when using it through Activesync????

So even if the TP2 is not activated it can be used as a portable Wifi Router!!

This is one app I miss from winmo. Hopefully they make it for wp7. I miss alot of apps for winmo. The good thing about winmo is that the apps were full programs not just small applications. I just like the stability of android. Hopefully wp7 keeps getting better.

only if you have a signal to pass Through the TP2... without your work PCs data connection, an unactivated TP2 would not work as a wifi router in your situation..

That IS what I'm using it for. So once my TP2 is unactivated, it will still pass my Work data connection through to Wifi, right?
