How do I switch my GPS to cold start? Please help

I am using a leaked froyo (midnight 2.5ext4) rom so the ##1472365# code does not work for me. How can I get into the GPS setup screen to switch my gps to a cold start? Any apps or other tricks to help make this switch, I can't seem to get a gps fix on my gps!

Re: How do I switch my GPS to cold start? Please help

Thanks for the quick reply, I appreciate it. I used ur method and it worked fine, until I upgraded to ext4 (rebroke my gps). I'm kind of sick of reflashing due to gps, so, if possible, I would like to fix this problem for good (hopefully) by just switching my gps to a cold start.

I know the old sgs tools app allowed me access to gps setup to switch to cold start. Unfortunately, it is no longer on the market and the version I found on the xda forums caused a force close when trying to access the "gps secret code."

Any suggestions other than re-flashing are greatly appreciated.

Download Any Cut. Use it to place LBSTest Mode shortcut on screen. That should access the GPS menu, which by the way never worked for me. I've always had to Odin to DI18 and get initial GPS lock. Good luck.

Re: How do I switch my GPS to cold start? Please help

Wudstock, I installed any cut but didn't see the gps setup (or LBStest) shortcut listed anywhere under activity. Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thank you.

Any other ideas?

Maybe it's not included in the rom. I'm gonna extract and see. The apk is there. You might try root explorer and go to data/system/app and try installing the apk. Not sure if that will work or not.

Does this phone have both gps and agps or only agps? Does the epic's gps work overseas?

It supports both GPS and AGPS..AGPS is there to help it lock on satellites faster..(on a TP2 thats done via QuickGPS for example)

I actually used GPS today on my Epic after the GPS on my TP2 failed to lock ...usually my TP2 locks fine but failed on me today..
