To the OP:

I don't think it's possible on the android the only way I see it is if you take a screen shot from your wm phone then port it to android as icons and wallpapers. You will have to map those icons with apps. I think Launcher Pro would help you but then again I don't have any experience on that. Just saying..

No, those are actually widgets on the home screen of Launcher Pro...you don't even need to have Launcher Pro to have the weather, clock and date on there like in the pic....just the custom dock bar you would need "LP"....

Launcher Pro?? I have the paid version.. but what version is this...? Because I can see now the dock bar is part of Launcher Pro.. But the clock, the calendar, and weather widget where did that come from?

Darren's right. We have a wiki that answers pretty much everything you need to know, and you could read it and do what it says in less than an hour.

And as far as which ROM to flash, that's like asking someone which car to drive or which soft drink to buy. Everyone has their personal likes and dislikes. Now, having said that, I really like the midNIGHT ROM that ptfdmedic has created. Its fast, stable and has the best battery life of any Froyo ROM I've tried (and I've tried just about all of them). Click on the banner in my sig and it will take you there.

lol you guys are really resistance to this monetization thing, huh? I'll give it a shot for an hour and report back my progress. If it takes longer than that, I'll repost here with my offer.

Also -- any other opinions on ROMs are greatly appreciated.

How stable is the midnight ROM? What are the bugs/quirks?

Its not that we are adverse to taking your money. For me modding my Android phone is a journey, not a destination. I think that you should learn how to do it because as soon as you think you're done, someone will come out with something newer, faster, cooler, etc etc. I haven't kept the same ROM on my phone for more than 2 weeks since I got it (although midNIGHT looks like a keeper - at least until the official release of Froyo).

The midNIGHT ROM is very stable and very fast. I have been running it for a few days now and so far no bugs to report. I did have a strange thing happen yesterday - my ringer stopped working. But that happened right after I flashed Timberwolf's theme over this ROM, so there was probably some conflict generated there. Soft reset fixed it. You are going to have to flash the modem with Odin since its a Froyo release, so there's one more step you need to learn.

EDIT: I just realized I more or less repeated what I said in my previous post. You are probably looking for someone else to give you their opinion, not just me repeating the same thing. Sorry.](*,)

He should already have the modem as he flashed the update.zip ota...all he needs to do is run the 1 click root/clockworkmod and install the rom.

---------------------

In my personal opinion I think you should give it yourself a shot and if anything ask for suggestions..you don't have to go crazy on learning everything at once..little by little wins the race...if you pay someone to do it, are you going to pay to update it every new version? are you going to pay someone when things go wrong?

But hey its your choice..just giving my 4 cents (inflation)

Darren graciously offered to help me on IM and even with his help every step of the way, it took us FOUR HOURS to get this done. We just got done now. It probably would have taken more than double the amount of time had I done this by myself. I dont know about you guys, but $25 is DEFINITELY worth 4 hours of my time.

In any case, thank you Darren for all the support. PM me your paypal email address.

P.S. Midnight ROM looks sweet.
