You should try Lookout for Android. Its really similar to Microsoft MyPhone. Hope this helps.

Lookout aka "The Battery Drainer" The store rep at the Sprint store says you don't really need this unless you lose your phone quiet often. I may be clumsy but I'm not stupid!

Re: Microsoft my phone

is that Dashwires limitation thus far with Android or something?? if you use Dashwire with winMO, it definitely does contacts, texts, etc... you can even reply to texts via your PC(no phone need be present)..... thats why I ask..

how can a Restore App, be a "Battery Drainer"? you use it for 3minutes backing up... turn it off... you use it for 10mins to Restore... turn it off... at the most, maybe daily backup - but thats about it.... how you gonna KILL your battery, using something infrequently?

and Im not fighting with you, Im honestly curious about something like this too - I just got my gf an Optimus(you know because an APP like this isnt limited to just the EPIC lol j/k w/ ya OP)..

So that maybe explain to me why... on Dk28 is the best rom since to go the whole day without losing charge. Most roms don't save battery like this one. I just installed this app last night for the first time I never seen a result like this one: how I left my phone on nightstand uncharged at 61% at 1:30am woke up at 6:30am it was at 13%

before I installed Lookout, I would leave it uncharged the same time as I did and at 6:30am it was 58%.

I swear to you I didn't install nothing else but Lookout. each time I install something I wait at least a day to see if it has an effect on the battery before installing another app.

Edit: wifi mode is always ON during my test.

I don't particularly use Lookout..but if an app is running as a service in the background it can be a battery hog.

Re: Microsoft my phone

also note that Lookout has to have some background services enabled to listen out for commands such as remote wipe, panic, locate, etc. these things are at the cost of battery life.

Re: Microsoft my phone

things I miss on android
1) ms my phone
2) my mobiler
3) mounting the route system director when you plug it in
4) the connection it automatically makes with a windows pc

but there are a million things that the epic 4g does that winmo tp2 never did so I'm 100% happy.

What I use to get over loosing ms my phone
1) google sync
2) sms backup & restore
3) call log backup & restore
4) sms backup

now, if I buy titanium ultimate and back up to dropbox once a day, I'll be 100% happy.

What you need is something similar to the palm pre's

How to Set Up Google GPS Tracking on your Palm Pre! | Palm Pre Hacks Blog!

it installs an html page on your on your phone which basically acts as a server... you need to have a dns server set up though... doesn't use any services but calls for gps only when you go to or refresh a web page. it's pretty cool. I wish we had something like that on the android.
