Ok. Redid everything. Wiped 3 timed. Use odin to flash dk17 that gten llama suggested. Then when odin finished, I rebooted to cwm and flashed the lagfix.zip. Now I'm rebooted, Android finished scanning media. Tested pics, web and programs. Theres still a 4 to 5 second delay to switching to landscape and visa versa. Fail. Stock is soooo fast. Now that I've used 2.2 and played with 2nd epic on stock, I realize how much faster stock 2.1 is. If only flash 10.1 worked on 2.1. :(

!!!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!!!!

THE LAG IS NOT FROM THE BETA LEAKS! ITS THE EPICS G SENSORS BEING UNCALIBRATED AFTER THE FLASH!

DOWNLOAD ( ANDROID TERMINAL) FROM THE MARKET. THEN TYPE THIS IN:

su
/system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha

FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS AND REPORT BACK. YOU WILL BE SHOCKED HOW FAST THE GSENSOR RESPONDS! NOW GIT! GIT! GIT!

I did exactly what you said and saw a slight improvement. I didn't have a 4-5 second lag when rotating the screen though. My screen switched to landscape in about 1.5 seconds. Now it switches in about 3/4 of a second.

Glass half empty - only improved it by 3/4 of a second.
Glass half full-cut the rotate time in half.

Give it a shot. It definitely does something.

Thats not bad! Its worth the effort. I noticed that the gsensor need this after a conplete flash from odin or clockworkmod. If I dont, I get a terrible 4-6 second lag when I try to get it to switch to landscape. After doing this fix, its ad fast as eclair just like you said, under a second switch. :)

Re: Dk05 - Dk17 leaks lag?

I got tired of waiting on the official Froyo and flashed This last night.
[Stock Flash][Odin]Dk17 Extended 11/28/2010 W/ Working Camera Fix. - xda-developers

It's basically a Stock, rooted, dk17 Froyo Rom. 1-click install using Odin, it couldn't get any easier.

I'm not seeing any lag at all. Opened a photo like you described, and it switches to landscape almost instantly when I tilt the phone.

Everything is working great, even Fullscreen Hulu in the Stock browser.
Errr. everything EXCEPT GPS. Have Yet to get a lock. Tried the gpsfix.zip, didn't work. My GPS barely worked on stock D18. May have to try the fix: Flash D18, get a gps lock, flash DK17.
