Quick question I did a clean install by wiping 3 times so now I'm on the Dk28 with Dk17 modem... Is it really necessary to update/flash into dk28 modem? Not have any issues yet been using it 2 days straight battery life is amazing on this one. Gods lock in seconds. So what's the benefit of having the new modem flashed...any difference?

But I experience occasional freezes and had to pull out the battery two times so far... Only when I had my phone on three charger for a while then when I wake it up and disconnect then it freezes up. But other than that it's quiet stable if ya withstand the battery pulls (especially when you have a protective case for your phone to deal with)

It generally boils down to the radio firmware aka the modem...Qualcomm pretty much has a monopoly on CDMA chipsets..even the Epic which is not a Qualcomm processor still uses a Qualcomm chipset..

Other possibilities to account for is the new FCC regulation where the modem must be placed on the bottom of the phone and not on top might have some signal strength differences.

The Admin and OP of the person who gave Sprint's take on the leaked DK28 ROM said he expected the official release in ~3 weeks, barring any problems found during testing.

anyone get official 2.2 yet ota? i know pringlet stated might be in 3 weeks but just checking besides ive read that another samsung phone was getting 2.2 on dec 17th.
