Thanks, I thought so but this kernel talk confused the hell out of me.

Re: 10/1 dI18 update here

Finally got my update this morning... it was weird though. I don't have root. Or anything else other than market apps. But I did a factory reset and the update popped up on reboot.. I think juice defender was hiding it or maybe mobile Lookout? Anybody else have a problem with updating yet with these programs installed?

Re: 10/1 dI18 update here

Does anyone have a copy of the original amazon mp3 file? After the last update, it's one of the files I deleted not realizing Sprint considered it necessary bloatware... I literally have everything else on the phone, but when I try to update and it does the system check, it sees Amazon missing... incredibly, I can download the file from marketplace no problem, but must be an updated version, because the update install still fails... Of course my titanium backup has everything else covered, but this one file is crossed out and does not appear to have been backed up before it was erased... I'd really like to avoid having to do a full factory install again to do this update... can somebody please help with advice on how to get amazon back to stock and installed? If I download Amazon Mp3 off the market, is there somewhere I need to move the program file to have the system thinks it is stock vs a download? The market version of Amazon says it is "1.8.22 remote prod ota" ... Thx

Edit, I got the stock amazon mp3 apk from a thread at XDA, installed, and still have validation errors... what else do I have to do? Please, anyone?

Re: 10/1 dI18 update here

I had the same problem with MobileAP.apk and MyFiles.apk. I eventually gave up and flashed back to stock, installed the updates, and then used TB to restore everything. Of course, that requires another 3 hours of re-rooting and restoring all my shortcuts and widgets, but it worked.

Re: 10/1 dI18 update here

I hear you, which is what I went through with DI07 and was hoping to avoid second time around... I purposely left all the sprint apps on the phone to avoid this, never realizing amazon mp3 would be mandatory... ridiculous... Thx

Re: 10/1 dI18 update here

Is there any way to authenticate that the update worked? Like, see the actual kernel number?

yes, go to settings / about phone from home page... you'll see it towards the bottom...
