Other Discounts?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a 'story' of how they got their Epic (or EVO) discounted more than the basic mail-in rebate?
I have been a Sprint customer for years and have never really done any haggling to get freebies or discounts. I am not in contract with Sprint and have not been for years. I called and asked about other incentives that Sprint could offer to get me back into contract with them. I felt that giving me (a 10 year loyal customer) the same discounts as a new customer was not really showing me any appreciation as a customer. They offered me an additional $70 contract renewal credit and to purchase back my old phone ($35 for a Touch Pro - not going to do that, though, it is worth more on eBay). While the additional $105 discount is great, I wonder if anyone else has had any other discounts added. My brother swears to me that he was able to get Sprint to give him 2 EVOs for $75. I asked him how he did it and he just told them that he was going to go to another carrier. I tried that and they sent me right to the account cancellation department! :dontknow: |
Re: Other Discounts?
Well, I let my 2 year contract run out and about a month later when I called Sprint to inquire about the impending release date of the Epic they offered me a $50 credit for each line - I have 2 so that's $100 - to extend for another 2 years. I told the guy that I was about to buy a new phone and asked if it would affect my eligibility and he said "no", so I took the $100 and signed a new contract. 3 weeks later the Epic came out and I bought it at Radio Shack, so after the $100 instant rebate and the $100 credit I got my Epic for $149.00.

Re: Other Discounts?
Alright, here is the cheapest I could do
Called Sprint - got a $70 credit to extend the contract Went through Bank of America's add it up program to get additional $50 off (you need to be a Bank of America Customer) Bought the phone through WireFly (BOA supported reseller) for $239 with free shipping and no taxes Total Cost was $119...Now, if I can get that for my Touch Pro...then I got a free phone! |
