What base [odin] are you guys flashing AAi3 on top of?
I'm having problems with [odin]EF02PLUS. I usually restore a backup when my phone random boots and loses modem. Now I can't recieve sms/mms. I've even tried factory wipe and reflashed AAi3, sms/mms still can not recieve. Searching for different [odin]EF02 base now.

Just wanted to see if there was a pattern for these mishaps. TIA

The AAi3 thread over in XDA seems to only want to talk about "who stole this?", "why get banned?", etc. etc.
The support over there is almost nonexistent over the past several days.

Friends? XDA? Surely you jest!

Truth be told, I never felt terribly comfortable posting because I don't have the patience to wade through the "noob" remarks to find what I'm looking for.

I initially started off with just the EF02 leak then went to EF02Plus. With the exception of the craziness with loss of signal from today its been really stable. Its only done this one other time. What I've noticed is that they happened when I'm in a place with lousy reception. Don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

Just odined back to stock EF02 leak and flashed AAi3(EF02).
Has anyone tried the reflashing the modem after the sudden reboot/signal loss?

Honestly I had so many problems with both EF modems I just went back to the EC05 modem.

I don't know if this is a known issue or not but Voicemail is not working for me. It asks me to contact sprint (probably a very bad idea, trust me ](*,))

Wondering about the EXT4. In the past when I have installed an EXT4 ROM, there has been an extensive conversion of the data in CWM.

That doesn't happen with this ROM. Are we really EXT4 with this ROM?

IF you are already ext4 you do not need to convert again, now some roms backup your data, install the rom and then restore your data..that is not ext4 conversion even though the procedure is similar.

You just gave me an idea. I odined to stock EC05, flashed cwm, flashed ACS's swisscheese EE03, and then finally AAi3(EE05 modem). It's running pretty smooth so far.

I'm here too! ;D Running this rom on EE03 Modem and not a single issue has surfaced (yet). Hope it stays that way.

This rom does not have the auto convert built in like bonsai and midnight froyo roms did. I'm mobile or I'd link the file.

ok, found a weird one. when i do the normal 3 button into recovery it pops up the purple one i installed, but if i boot into recovery any other way, i.e. from the rom manager app. .it boots into some yellow bonsi recovery ive never seen.
how can i get rid of the bonsi one?
and how did it get there?

this rom is awesome my only prob with it is 2 or 3 times out the day my phone freezes and i have to pull the batt. and hbo2go dont work. i can deal with both but it would be nice to have a fix:mrgreen:

I got that too, guessing it's baked into the rom. Personally I like cwm a little better than bonsai recovery. Guessing it's there because i2 had that bonsai base and he forgot to remove it.

If I follow the instructions per the OP though, I would be starting with a stock ROM (not an ext4... so I can't be "already ext4).

What needs to be done to get to ext4 I'm starting from Stock EF02 and flashing i3?](*,)

i just have to say im getting awesome battery life with this rom. so far i have gone 23h 20min at the time of this posting and my battery is at 49%. This is with a bunch of text messages, 1 mms, light internet browsing, about 45 mins worth of news reading on greader pro, and browsing tapatalk a bit. i have to say im impressed

I've had this happening since i2. I'm on i3 now and it still happens every day or two. I find it that my phone is shutting off in the middle of the night and not turning back on. When I wake up and turn it on its in airplane mode. I have to restarted 3-4 times before its normal again. ROM is great other then that...however I've been missing my alarm (late to work) since my phone has turned off 4 of the 8 days or so that I've been using this ROM... Any ideas of what the cause of the random shutdowns and going into airplane mode upon bootup?

Lol, yeah I use it, but I don't get many phone calls these days. Damn I'm getting old.

Does it not show a baseband version after restart?
Have you tried reflashing a modem via odin after?
Also, what GB leak are you using?

Why is it that people are stating that this doesn't do the EXT4 conversion? It does convert to EXT4. You can check by going into a terminal emulator and checking the mounts. You'll see that stl9 (/system), stl10 (/data), and stl11 (/cache) are all mounted as EXT4.

What I found with my install was that the backup/restore process isn't good. It hosed up everything for me and I had to do a factory reset to stop all the FCs.

The EF02 modem is known for this. Flash any other modem (ie EC05) and you will be fine. I don’t think i3 will let you upgrade to EF10.

Im on ee03 modem and Im yet to have any fc or restarts on I3 and I came from a v7 and didnt not wipe my data its one of them phone specific issues I guess

figured it out, i flashed the Alpha EE03 Revo Update and the music player doesnt work from that so i took it out of the zip and it works fine now
