[ROM][ACS][STOCK] "Leaky Gingerbread" ED12 :: RFS ONLY :: Deodexed/Prerooted :: 4/27 - xda-developers

now to wait till most bugs are gone roms n themes ./.


Bug List:

- 4G non-functional
- GPS non-functional out of the box - WORKAROUND: get GPS Status from the Market; reset AGPS status (works with wireless networks off)
- Wake lag present
- Does not boot when plugged in and powered off, unplug to boot
- Temperature sensor readings are incorrect. You may see interrupted charging due to bad battery temp readings.
- Slide to unlock button sometimes 'sticks'
- Has Carrier IQ (dieplz)

From what ACS is saying it probably won't be on this build. I'm not sure which is better, the ED12 build or CM7 Alpha 4.

Either way, big props to k0nane and ACS for bringing this to us.

I was expecting this to come out soon..as CM7 got an update 2 days ago with ED12 binaries...so it was just a matter of time...

grr..I wish I had my phone repaired already :( lol

Prob difference is CM7 alpha is smoother but not all features working, while tis should have features working with hiccups here and there...

just now flashed this, really nice imo and i recommend keeping EC05 modem and gps has a fix now also. just Get gps status on the market and reset agps status.

Is it good enough for daily use? Or should we stick with midNIGHT rom iyo?

wait, you guys actually get 4G? I've only connected 5 times.
So is this good enough? I never use the GPS either.
What is battery life like?
I'm getting 11.5hrs off a 100% charged 3500MAH battery with 5.2 midnight.

This was just released late yesterday, so people will need some time to play with it before they know what the battery life is.

yes i dont really see a issue why this cant be a "daily driver" i cant find a issue that would prevent this from being so and i used it all day and ya theres a few animation lag issues but its very minor, gps kept me on track just fine and 4g would be only issue i see for some but trust me the 3g seems just fine. taskbar looks sweet and wifi tether works better than EC05 for me. its a simple flash guys, backup and try it plus your gonna wanna keep EC05 modem so no need to odin that.

it is a stock rom with all bloatware so it might be a little off but time will tell on that one. its not slowing my fun down any. lol

I'll load it, but saying "simple flash" is a mis-statement since I have to reload all my apps again again again again each time I re-load a new rom.

Backup with Titanium or MyBackupPro, Flash, Restore. Seems pretty simple to me.

I'd try it myself, but I'm working on a theme update on EC05.

does not work. you have to go through each individual application and install it. Just to try it out, I installed from titanium... and what happens, that app doesn't show up in "myapps" in marketplace. I have to install through market place and then restore data through titanium. PITA.

Also, I have to re-set up my desktop widgets and icons the way I like them.
Also, I have to re-connect all my contacts together that have different names in fb/google/exchange.
Also, I have to add all my accounts to it (fb/google/exchange).

anyhow, I like gingerbread so much better than froyo. It connects to office 2010 so much better. it says I can send txts from office, but I don't think they are going through. actually, they are going through, but they don't show up in my SMS history so it's not working for me.

RFS (or this rom) is slow to do a lot of things. I notice the KB is slow to load and anything going to-from the screen like menus is slow to load. Loading 3K txt took a long time.

Exchange PIN policy seems to have the bugs worked out? The screen hasn't PIN locked on me yet which I like. I would set it to 5 minutes.

so not true, i used titanium and my backup pro and both restored all my shit just fine, not one fc except voicemail and that was my issue cause i tried new modem.

ok, please tell me how to restore my contact connections between fb/google/exchange through titanium. I would really like at least that.

This ROM is decent. I see a lot of weird little things and I keep getting a pop up when the phone isn't charging that says the battery is too hot or too cold.

yeah thats a known bug:

BTW: GPS Status is bunk. I loaded it and then looked at my battery usage with GPS off and it was HUGE.

and? its beta with all bloat still there and no battery tweaks. you can kill drm ect with titanium but im getting decent life but dl speeds increase are worth it.

Unfortunately the only way I know to restore widgets is with cw restore, but that causes more havok than good. TB works great with apps though.

Like I said, the one app that I restored from TB for S/Giggles is not showing up in "my apps" in the market place. Last time this happened, I never got any updates for that.

I have TB free so I don't think I can kill DRM.
Android System is taking up 71% of the battery life.

ok, there is a thing called "market doctor" in the paid version that sees like it would fix my issues. I didn't really want to pay $5.99 for a back up program. maybe.

1) the LED never comes on for anything.

Keep in mind that this is a beta. There will be bugs just like DK28 had.

DK28? more like DI29....DK28 was an RC, ED12 is a first beta so even it turning on is a big plus ;) lol

Ok let me clear this up....this is a leak and we at ACS released it as a leak...it is meant to play with and see whats coming...we already knew that it needs work...which is also stated in the threads, videos, etc....I did run it for a day and it can be used for sure....but for me...nah....and k0nane will not be working off of this build at this time...we will be waiting for a stable build to come out....
